Interesting he could not get out of a lifetime of evasive answers. He said he had "no recollection" of ever being abused himself.I would have thought you would have a very clear recollection of abuse if it god forbid it ever happened to you.It should have been a simple yes or no answer.

Kerrygold - that's a nice leap in moral equivalence you've made there .
You imply that Americans combatting Taliban terrorists is equivalent to Irish people murdering their neighbours who also happen to be other Irish people ?

This is not worthy to be called ''thinking''. Why not try to engage your brain before spewing this drivel on a forum ? You must surely be able to do better than that .

Adams is a damaged lying dirtbag -like his IRA henchmen-who indulged in a deliberate campaign of murder and mayhem which had no justification whatsoever ,which had no possibility of ''success'' and duly proved utterly futile but not before causing appalling misery and destruction in Ireland and the UK after a sickening list of horror events and innocent casualties.

one mans terrorist is another mans hero.
horror events and innocent casualties, dont these happen in every war.
the ira did a difficult job as best they could, just a pity they missed thatcher in brighton.

Vubiant if you asked an afgani or iraqi if they thought the brits and yanks where terroists what do you think there answer would be? imo you need you need to see things from other peoples perpective and not just your owns.

Americans combatting Taliban terrorists - If only it was as simple as this.

Even Hardy has lost his blinkers by now.

Not as simple as ''Murder and intimidate Northern Protestants to join a Republic dominated by the Roman Catholic Church''. :^0

Quite equal in its simplicity. It just takes the same blinkered vision to come up with something like that.

But seriously foaks , we mustn't forget the point of this thread is poor Gerry.
Don't forget him in your prayers as you flock to worship in your local worshippy places this Christmas . Think of the peace and love that emanates from the Child in the crib -and you'll think of Gerry the peacemaker. It's an easy transition.
Oh ...and remember to utter a few orisons in Gaelic . Sure doesn't Gerry love the oul' Gaelic .....the broken down lingo of our boggy ancestors and the language spoken in the halls of heaven itself .

"which had no possibility of ''success'' and duly proved utterly futile"
Do you really think we would have a northern assembly with Republican and Nationalists powersharing, if normal democratic means only had been followed? Get a grip.

So the jolly asks us to believe that a 30 odd year camaign was initiated by Gerry and ''the lads'' that led to the slaughter of almost 4000 people and the maiming of many thousands more --to bring about a ''Northern Assembly'' within the UK ???
Methinks the jolly is either much inebriated or seriously mentally destitute ( or ,of course, both). A Northern Assembly type situation could have been brought about over 30 years ago shortly after the Sunningdale Agreement.

One is minded of the great Latin phrase ''Laboraverunt montes et paruerunt ridiculus mus''.

What a shameful waste produced by an orgy of primitivistic bloodlust so prevalent among the verminous anthropoids of the IRA and, even more pathetically, by the headbangers who cheerlead from the sidelines.

And what about the cheerleaders of the US and British army in Afghanistan and Iraq?

They have killed alot more innocent people in the last 5 years than the IRA ever managed. But its ok because the US & British army are fighting the terrorist taliban.

The US and British army dont do much in the line of prostitution, racketeering, drug running, smuggling etc. That seperates them from the brave soldiers in the North of Ireland.

the war is a catastrophe but do not lose sight of the fact that the killings in afghanistan and iraq are the work of islamo-loons who murder anyone they deem not islamic enough(everyone). they murder schoolgirls, blow up mosques(with a total lack of response from muslims in the west to attacks on 'holy places'), ambulances, any westerners they find. same in pakistan, algeria, indonesia, sudan, somalia, saudi, malaysia.....mmm.

british and american troops are not riding around shooting people. they are trying to keep a lid on the nutters intent on death. whether they should be there at all is a different matter.

no-one is prepared to come out and say islam is a nasty, intolerant and vile creed.

if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...its a duck

"A Northern Assembly type situation could have been brought about over 30 years ago shortly after the Sunningdale Agreement"
Thats right, the nice Unionist folk were ready to share power 30 years ago because they were starting to feel a little guilty about all of the social inequality and blatant sectarianism that pervaded their society at that time. What part of 'never, never, never' did you not understand?
