I rang Sky a month ago, had a bloke out the following wednesday (I rang on the friday, everything up and installed within an hour).
May be busier now, but if you ring them they'll give you a date so you'll know. |

getting it installed on wednesday got a letter today saying all multiroom boxs must be connected to a phone line i am getting 4 boxes does that mean every box must be connected to a phone line.
thats not going to work for me as i have 2 boxes gonig up stairs and with the phone line in the kitchen does that mean there will have to be wires going all the way from upstairs to the kitchen. |

Yes - they usually run them along the skirting so they are not visible

There's no great need to conect them to the phone line.
Sky only press you to do so, so then can sell you more products like pay per view and their betting service. The installer will say you have to buts thats a lie and if you dont want cables running all over the house dont do it. It wont affect you viewing a jot. |

There is a charge if a box isn't connected to a phone line. Depends on your installer, if he's a decent bloke he'll leave it.

let them bung it in the phone line, very handy for pay per view and porn (apparently)

Phone line is very much neccesary for multi room boxes. if you dont have it connected you have tp pay a full subcription for each box. This is something sky are fairly strict about. They will ring each box once a month and if not connected you will hear about it fairly quickly
