Accountancy, with a view to going on to forensic accountancy

Finance, options in trading and regulation

If possible try and combine them with Chinese language courses.

Depends on what your strenghts are.

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of unemployed solicitors in the country. Like everything else they became far too dependent on the building industry for revenue.

Ask Geppy about his cousin who went back to college as a mature student. Worked out very well for him.

Depending on your age Maestro. I would not study accountancy if you are pushing on. It is mind numbing in the early years. I had to throw in the towel after 2 years, waste of time and money.
Just found it too disheartening studying theory that was ions removed from reality.
Do Accounting technician if you want to work in accounts

Do something you like.. seriously, if you go and do something youre not too keen on, it'll be a pain to get out of bed. Dont do something too easy either or you wont bother getting of bed either..!

I've done Law, Accounting, Computers, Business and Marketing.

Law - so much to learn.
Accounting - easy if you learn layout rules, (logic behind it is boring) handy if youre good with numbers.
Computers - quite simple if you like using them. (logic behind them in boring again)
Business - common sense in my opinion.
Marketing - pure waffle, dream up stuff and write it down.

I've never been interested in any of them to be honest, but its what I have to do if someday I need a job apparently. Basically go to college, be bored senseless for 3/4 years.. then people will give you a job. Life :D

Is that through Access in DCU? Couple of my mates did that when they left school. I've never applied for a grant but presume you'll get a fair few quid.. I think someone told me if youre living outside Dublin and go to college there you get something off travel expenses too depending on a few things they ask for (I think). Then depending on parents income you get more too. I moved out so never applied for anything.

Yeah though seriously pick something you like, I normally just go in and read the Racing Post and then pop home.. gambling is my life though I have no real interest in anything else. You'll have great craic when not in class, class no craic though..!

Owing to forum rules I cant be explicit but our company is looking for 'staff' all the time. The job involves eating chocolate.Yeah..tough..but somebody has to do it.You then have to encourage others to eat it..who then encourage others et. the more eaten the more they pay you.
A former Irish rugby international in Dublin is big in this.

If you DO decide to head back to school, don't waste your time attending lectures. Just get the notes off a classmate about 2 months before the exams and study them instead.
