Man gets seven years for sexual assault
A MAN from north Kerry has been sentenced at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee to seven years for the sexual assault of a woman in Listowel last year.

Just on the factual point -he was neither accused nor convicted of rape . It was a sexual assault ...it might conceivably have been a prelude to a planned rape -but no rape was carried out.

Dont mind that other Cooldine,this is the real feller here and im here to defend young Foley.Do any of ye ghouls know the people involved,the answer a resounding no.Do ye know their backgrounds,again no.Then how can ye make judgement then ye pack of cyber fruitcakes.There is something different about this case when people are comforting a so called sex offender and the so called victim is scampering out the back door.Normally its the victim comes out the front head held high and the offender is ushered out the back away from the eyes of the public.Priests standing by the so called perpetrator and so on and suddenly one imagines that this cannot be an open and shut case.
Its plain and simple what happened here and i feel very sorry for the feller involved exactly what most of his neighbours feel also. |

Missed the brother on Pat Kenny... curious to hear other the side of story... I like every sane person was appalled by the scenes reported from the court house, and have been shocked by many peoples reaction that their must have been some other side to this case that somehow wasn't heard in court. My suspicion is this is a particularly well orchestrated slur campaign on the girl so as the convicted man saves some sort of face as incredulous as that sounds.

Or so it seems is the key phrase in your post Kavvie.What i am suggesting is a distinct possibility and possibly even a propability that is everything in this case is not as it seems at all.Kerry people are being portrayed as animals after coming out in support of Foley.It is highly likely that people with local knowledge know more than the average cyber fruitcake that posts on here.

what was said in the press was pretty daming tbh, and he lied about how he found her (said he found her when going to releive himself), and was seen carrying her behind the skip, and she was found naked from the waist down.

He lied about carrying her there. Raped was not committed only for the fact id say he was caught in the act. Hes as guilty as sin. Priest was right to resign and has no buisness getting involved. If it was a family would want that animal hung up. Justice was done he's** and deserves to rot in jail. Anyone defending should take a good luck at themselves.

According to one report - in the Indo i think - Foley said the reason they didnt have sex was because he couldnt get an erection. Could just be a lie i suppose like a lot of the garbage that has spewed from his mouth
