Yeah but its just a small rural town. Grand you'll get a slap if you mouth off in a pub but you'll get that anywhere.
A guy stabbed in his car, at dinner time, ffs. Hope its not more of the posion thats killing limerick and flowing over the county line. |

Tipp town. abysmal road connections to major cities. in turn any decent sized company who would want to base themselves there give it a miss. No employment. Social deprivation......like alot of towns now in Ireland. Political failure the by word in these towns. Look at their councillers and no doubt they are at civic receptions day and night whilst this happens....

Like a lot of towns theres a ever expanding traveller population who are bringing havoc to the locals...on st patricks day this year children & adults including a visiting american got attacked..the american got his eye socket broken and promised never again to return to this country!!..then again maybe he doesnt understand peoples culture & ethnic traditions?

timber,
ALLEGEDLY, it was a gang of travellers that commited the crime yesterday, they killed a traveller from a rival family. Apparantly though, they got the wrong man. The man they stabbed and hit with a hatchet was actually a brother of the man they were after. Also, the victims 12yo son was in the passenger seat at the time of crime. The coppers dont want to know. They'd rather be doing easy work like breathalysing people in the mornings and giving out speeding fines. When it comes to dealing with**, they aint interested. |

When it comes to dealing with knackers most people arent that interested. If one happens to put another ones lights out in a ruck then i think you will find that most people wont be overly bothered. If i was a guard i think id rather be doing a road checkpoint than attending a traveller dispute.

Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Tipperary town last night arrested a further three people this afternoon.
A woman aged in her 30s and a man in his 30s were detained at Cahir Garda Station, while another in her 20s was detained at Tipperary Garda Station. All three may be detained for up to 72 hours. This brings to five the number of people in custody after two people, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s, were detained in the early hours of the morning in Waterford. Willie Stokes, 47, was attacked while sitting in his van in Tipperary town last night. He tried to flee from his attacker or attackers but crashed his vehicle on Bridge Street where he was pronounced dead some time afterwards. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today on Mr Stokes' body but it is understood he was knifed several times shortly after 6pm. A murder investigation was launched. Mr Stokes, a married father, was a member of the Traveller community and had lived in Tipperary for the past 20 years. Gardai in Tipperary are appealing to anyone who was around the Supervalu in Tipperary town from 9am yesterday until 7pm last night to contact them. The motive is still unknown, but one line of inquiry is that the killing may be linked to an ongoing feud between members of the Traveller community in Waterford and Tipperary and may have been planned. |
