Carberry back for the one ride after his soujourn in Trim on behalf of the Ward Union staghounds.

An excellent card of chases/hurdles/ and bumpers provides for a great day of fare.

Race 1) Southampton. Runner up to Action Master in a winners race a month ago ought to be good enough here. Would love to see Eddie Donegan's Leblon run well. I fear it may be a bit quick after a fine run against Alavain (Group 3 class) in Gowran last week.

Race 2) For Bill (Nap). If ever a race was framed for her this is it. A triple bumper winner with excellent P/P form ought to doddle up here.

Race 3) Clifton Pier. 3rd to Steviemac at Thurles a fortnight ago, should be good enough here provided he can string two good performances together.

Race 4) Apt Approach (NB). Ruby imo was at fault for his mistake at the last in Thurles 3 weeks. Had the race won and can make amends here.

Race 5) Kempes (Treble). A Grade 1 2nd to stable companion Hurricane Fly at the Punchestown festival last season. This should be an exercise canter to better things.

Race 6) Major Decision. Short headed by the progressive My Lord Oscar 2 months ought to be good enough here provided the gap has not left him lacking fitness. Watch Borolee, a major gamble a fortnight ago at Naas and Seabass ( Ruby) who just could be progressive.

Race 7) Ross na Righ. A chance is taken on hurdle form, generally superior to bumper form, on Dessie Hughes's stead here. Dessie doesn't normally target bumpers . 3rd to the first two favs Enterprise Park/Misala at Naas a month ago. Otherwise W P's newcomer Pickapocketortwo or the well backed Rock The Bock(25/1 into 6/1) who led to the distance at Mallow last Sunday to the well backed J J Walsh newcomer Silver Friend may prevail.

The form of the C Roche yard would have to be a worry. No winner for the last 2 months.

Surely for bill is a 4/7 shot at best. The rp forecast is a joke.

Anyone else surpised Kempes is running over 2m 4f today and not in the shorter race? Has to be stamina doubts, particularly on seasonal debut. Lay for me.

Apt APPROACH should be running in the 2m4 and kempes in the 2m1. I think he's trying to handicap apt by running him over too short a trip

Laid Kempes on that basis sinndar. Borolee the nap of the day. Apt Approach has an engine, maybe he'll get the hang of jumping soon enough.

Nobody amazed by the run of Kempes? I was livid I wasn`t able to lay it again in running because it was never winning today.

I don`t know mate. Somebody else might though.
Didn`t jump at all badly for a debutante. Still travelling turning out of the back. No effort asked for until after it was bumped into at the 2nd last. Possibly a convenient bump. The winner could hardly be described as not winning out of turn. Rated over 2 stone inferior over hurdles.
I`ll put it this way. I think he`ll improve greatly for the outing!
