Hopefully it gets the all clear tomorrow

90th minute
- will hate the ground, wont stay and tom could be having a better time of things. well beaten lto by aitmatov on worse terms

catch me
- ticks all the boxes but again o grady is not firing and he's after a fall lto over the larger obstacles. leaving at 5/4

oscar dan dan
- im convinced he needs better ground. was running a race lto but how strong a contest was it?

healys bar
- outclassed

hardy
- dont fancy him staying on fairyhouse holding gluey stuff and is not improving (hope he runs well but i think connections should retire him imo). will pressure aitmatov in the lead

shakervilz

- will allegedly come on for the run but im sure he's best fresh. mullins and ruby at 12/1 deserve a second look; his form with the 2nd fav beating him out of sight last year looks good. 2.5 on heavy looks ideal (not sure he gets the three or likes good ground which would excuse some lacklustre efforts) and this is the time to catch him

2pts win shakervilz 12/1 paddys

gl all

I agree with you fully Plat. Pat Keane made it his nap last Saturday when I was talking to him in Fairyhouse.

It was only when I was reading the Racing Post on Sunday and was looking at " Todays Trainers" that I realised how much he was out of form. 0/2/20. Two placed out of twenty runners in the past fortnight.

I got chinned on Judge Roy Bean a t 2/5 the previous week in Navan.

It is only a Grade 1 in name only with Grade 2 or 3 runners

Ninetieth Minute will hate the ground? Formbook says otherwise. Nothing wrong with the form of O'Grady yard either.

Plat, I asked him on Saturday what his nap was for Sunday and he told me Catch Me. I then asked him what was Ruby's best ride as he ghost writes his excellent column in the Examiner every Saturday. He told me that he had no real stand out ride. Looking at his book of rides ther is nothing that really stands out. The best of them imo would be Alpha Ridge who should come on for his seasonal debut and the booking of Ruby would be a plus.

fair enough soapp, cheers for that

i know its apples and oranges but pandorama could carry alpha ridge on their hurdle form. we'll see over the big ones

Have to say I'm surprised they're going r/h again - can you correct it just like that? All his starts over hurdles had been l/h & he's probably schooled around Navan

Noel Meade, trainer: "He's in super form. A fair bit was made about him jumping to the left when he won at Punchestown, but while he is again going right-handed this time, I'm not too concerned. He has schooled straight since and I think what happened last time might have had a lot to do with him being on his own in front. He goes well on the ground."

if thats any use to you deep ?:|

By:

its the reason youre getting 11/2 over 5/2 imo

remember thinking last season 'im backing him everytime he's odds against over fences'. could potentially turn the tables with his sole conqueror last season?

Aye - well MDH's ultimate target could be up in the air for a while. The Deloitte race was unsatisfactory but am a fan of the horse, got an engine - the race Casey Jones won @ Leop last year would be right up Pan's street imo

POCKET TALKIN' imho

That weekend CM fell was as good as it gets for any trainer (Osana & Judge RB won), so the come down, from that high feels, as you would expect, a little disappointing for some to take.
The only recent disappointments, beaten by good horses were......
Slieveardagh [2/1] 2nd of 5 5L behind Fionnegas.
Solstice Knight 11/2 2nd of 17 9L behind Sports Line.
Jack Finch 11/2 p.u. (in the fog :^0 ) won by Parsons Pistol.

while O'Muircheartaigh 12/1 had a good run when 2nd of 10 1L behind Parsons Pistol.

I'd expect 4/5 winners in the next few days fwiw (also expect to be hung by some if we don't)
(the new gallops might be paying off in this weather ;) )

had a good bet on the traff that day swin :( owes me nought that said

but at xmas i visit the BOL (bank of leopardstown) for withdrawals from the 27th-29th every year. never fail to get paid out. love it

stephens day out to the boozer for the proper racing across the water which is also generally profitable.

great time of year this :D

In reference to Alpha Ridge and his hurdles form, he is rated 151 over sticks which him superior to every horse in the field except Jered on 154. Pandorama is rated 149.
By:
thegalwayman
When: 01 Dec 09 20:07
Theoretically superior.
By:
Prospero
When: 01 Dec 09 20:20
Indeed TGM. And obviously Pandorama would have scope to improve that mark having had half as many starts over hurdles as Alpha Ridge. I just can't have it that he would pick AR up an carry him (or whatever the analogy was) on hurdles form, for all that he beat him easily in the Navan race. AR was flat that day and showed his proper form when winning the Galmoy.
By:
sinndar001
When: 01 Dec 09 20:38
Hold up how can pandorama definetely be a better horse than alpha ridge. Navan was false, or at least Pandorama hasn't done anything like it before or since, and imo it has been proven after conclusively.

If Alpha ran to form that day then Pandorama put in a performance of 160 plus( i fell for it at the time like an idiot following a meade hype job- never did it before or since) but it's not Alpha's form since that dispells that the 160+ theory its Pandorama's form. He was thumped by both of Willies after and yes you may say Mikael and Vinny are top notchers but they weren't thumping a 160 horse surely.

Both Pandorama and Alpha had 2 runs after Navan and Alpha surely had the better form winning a GR 2 from watuthink followed by a poor effort in cheltenham on ground too quick for him.

Alpha may also be better rh which leads to more suspicions about navan RH 1,6(YLD),1,1,1,1,2

pandorama only lost to mikael dhaguenat last yr,won his first race despite doin left and costing hinself numero lenghts on the way round, will love the trip,if meade has corrected this flaw,he will win on the bridle, remember last year all they z was this horse is a chaser, they didnt wanna bring him to chelthenham even though in theory thru the mikael line he only had 1 horse to beat, obviously in the heavy ground hard to be certain but if this jumps round it will definately win!!and that 7/1 the other day was massive imo!!

When: 02 Dec 09 17:00
Pandorama's superiority wasn't obvious to some of us( me anyway) before the race but its clearer now. Will meade be able to keep him in form for the rest of the season.

Alpha has to be suited by 3 miles and he jumped very well today, altho it's hard to see him turning the tables on the winner over that trip.
By:

O'Grady's are out of form since that magic few days back in early November.....
(6 wins in 4 days, 3 doubles in 3 racetracks) ....

09Nov09 Lim 17H 4y+ NovCh(13K) Pesoto 11-12[5/4f] 1st of 12 13L to Swift Counsel
09Nov09 Lim 16H 4y MdnHdl(7K) Rigour Back Bob 11-9[5/6f] 1st of 18 16L to Milanette
08Nov09 Nav 20SH 5y+ NovCh(33K) Catch Me 11-4[4/7f] fell in race won by Oscar Looby
08Nov09 Nav 16SH 4y+ NovCh(17K) Osana 11-12[4/6f] 1st of 14 ¾L to Roberto Goldback
08Nov09 Nav 16SH 4y+ H(28K) Judge Roy Bean 11-1[5/6f] 1st of 6 4 ½L to The Hurl
07Nov09 Dow 22S 5y+ HcapCh(13K) Jack Finch 11-5[3/1] 1st of 11 ¾L to Hume River
06Nov09 Dow 16S 5y+ HcapCh(15K) Killenaule Boy 11-10[11/2] 1st of 17 4 ½L to Narquois

Pesoto has had two operation that may not make him the great prospect that was expected of him.

CM was off his feed a little more than usual and therefore not as sharp as he usually is when asked to go about his business in the latter part of this race. The after effects of his fall no doubt.
