Didn't think Doyle did much wrong last time. Horse jumped great and just lacked a turn of foot against that opposition.

Now he isn't a Ruby Walsh mind you nor are most of the others!!

COUNTY Kilkenny trainer Lar Butler and his family, who own high-class chaser Trafford Lad, were on Thursday coming to terms with the news that the seven-year-old is likely to be out of action for the rest of the season after picking up a tendon injury.

Trafford Lad had made a satisfactory reappearance at Naas at the end of October when chasing home Tranquil Sea and Joncol, who went on to frank the form by winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup and John Durkan Memorial Chase respectively.

Butler said: "I was happy enough after Naas, but the next morning I felt a slight bit of heat in a leg, although it looked and felt perfect.

"We were struggling to get the heat out of it and when the time came to step up his training for the Hennessy, I just wasn't happy, so we had it scanned."

Butler who is in his first year with a licence, added: "He's going on a walking programme for the next six weeks and we'll be scanning him at the end of that.

"It's going to be a lot longer than we originally thought but we are not going to rush him. We have to give him time, and my gut feeling is that the season is over for him."

Aahh! So thats why he was well backed for the Hennessy. Because he had heat in his leg the day after Naas!
My sympathies to a very good horse. Not echoed to connections.
