What has gone wrong in this yard in the last 2 or 3 years? How does a man go having a Champion Chase winner to having a 1/2% strike on the flat and over jumps?

I think the question you should be asking is how in the love of jesus did a trainer like Murphy with a 0.5% strike rate ever win the Champion Chase. If im not mistaken and i wouldnt swear on it Simon Christian was tied up with him for a while but i think that alliance is over. His horses are quite often over tried also, taking part in races where they appear to have no realistic chance and in the process quite often ruining winnable handicap marks. He is something similar to Clive Brittain except Clive does have an odd winner.

This previous champion chaser has been knocking on the door, notably last time out in a big one in the UK.

Also he had a filly recently that went close in the Irish Guineas.

The luck will return.

He was robbed with Tuscan Evening in the Guineas. She is doing well in America, by the looks of it.
