It closed because the major players were being charged the premium and they made it unsustainable.I went down there a few times and it used be good. There was a heavy feller from Cork somewhere used to be a regular.Got talking to him and he told me he was getting bombs out of the in running stuff.Another lad from Kerry used be there and he was knocking it right off but he seemed alot more selective maybe one or two bets a day.He was real cool too,you would never know whether he had a bet in a race or not.

was down there myself once or twice, got talking to a heavy lad from kerry,i was fairly heavy going in there myself but i'll tell ya i was very light coming out..

Just remembered the Cork fellers name. They used called him Boris, not sure was that his nickname or his real name.He had a new Audi car and often had a sidekick in the front seat.I think they used call him Bobbybocala.

In theory a good idea , but eventually they will finish up betting against the guys on the course , as those of us with delayed pictures ( probably 99% of us ) avoid serious in running betting like the plague .
Add in premium charge which should affect those with the built in advantage as they should not lose very often , and sums maybe dont addup . Plus the time commitment . |

A mate of mine was over with a horse of his auld lads in Wolverhampton the other week and he stayed in the Holiday Inn that is attached to the track. His room overlooked the parade ring and every room had ATR, RUK and the raw feed from closed circuit course TV. The same fella is married, so he would never consider it, but a man could have a right night there. Back a few paddock picks, back a few in-running winners, then spend the winnings on one of Wolverhamptons finest ladies of the night and have her delivered straight to your hotel room. That is surely the perfect setup for a serious player???
