Hope Newry lives up to its name as the "marshes" for you but you dont have the cross (eyed) ref to help you this time. Good luck but think you will need it !

Not sure what cross-eyed ref you are referring to PFR ? Nor why you think we will need luck in Newry?? - I think the betting (2/5) is an accurate reflection of our chances.
Itsyourround - strong squad alright - 5 Antrim county players, 2 Fermanagh players and 3 or 4 others who could/should be county players. Team has been playing together consistently for a long time and has experience in provincial finals and one AI final in the last few years.
Addition of Rory Gallagher this year is a plus - especially when it comes to free-taking which has been a notable issue for a few years.
Don't want to talk it up too much but I think we've got a great chance this year.

If you read my comments and were aware of the previous thread in relation to our semi with the Loup you would know that the comment relates to the Loup needing the luck. The comment in relation to "cross eyed" relates to a one Mr Hughes from Crossmaglen who made a pigs ear out of the semi-final and as predicted displayed his anti-Down bias.
I hope Loup win as they defeated us, dont agree with a lot of the anti St Galls stuff on other forums, but can understand some of it when you find it so easy to take in an outsider. Would a lesser name have been welcomed into the team/squad?

Wasnt aware of the other thread PFR and didnt realise that you were referring to Loup. I did hear that Kilcoo were hard done by in the other Semi - particularly regarding a free that never was in injury time. Heard that even with 14 men you were the better side for most of the game. Hopefully now that you have made the breakthrough and Benny and the

we really never thought we would be back in an ulster final and yes rode our luck against kilcoo how strange 6 years later we meet a much more formidable st galls team in my view and i fear alas we are not as strong as 2003

Was there in 2003 and as disappointed as we were on the day, I think that you definitely deserved it that year. Was our first Ulster Final for a long time and many of the team were just breaking through to Senior level. Most of those lads are still on the panel and will play again on Sunday.
Ill be hoping that your assessment of the teams is accurate Itsyourround ;-) but you know yourself that anything can happen on the day.
Whatever the outcome lets hope that its a great game of football and that whoever wins it can go all the way come March. Watching some of the other provincial semis on TG4 I dont think theres too much there to be frightened of.

Good performance yesterday - our fellas seem to have peaked at the right time.
Antrimbhoy - can understand your remark re: our defence if it is based on yesterday as we did look uncharacteristically nervous at times. Generally speaking our defence is pretty sound though.
Sound Man - wouldn't put you off the 2/1 at all (I will be taking some myself). Biggest question in my mind is that our fellas seem to have gradually hit peak form since the start of the Antrim Ch'ship and it's a long time until Feb/Mar during which it's anyone's guess how well a team can hold it's form and stay injury free etc. That said, it's the same for all teams and we have a fair amount of strength in depth in our panel.
