Mine for today:
12.15 Action Master (each way) is clearly a well-thought of by Dessie Hughes. He was backed from 12/1 into 10/1 on his hurtdling debut in a competitive Galway maiden hurdle when unseating at the second, caused by a loose horse. He was even more heavily supported on his next start over hurdles (from 8/1 into 5/1) when finishing well down the field in a 2m Punchestown maiden hurdle on good to yielding. He showed that form to be false by landing a 3yo hurdle at Punchestown on heavy on his latest start by 8 lengths.
He was getting 7lbs from Go Golan Go who he beat by 26 lengths and was also getting 7lbs from Gimlis Rock who he beat by 16 lengths. Mosstown could only beat Go Golan Go by 7 lengths when receiving 6lbs and Gimlis Rock by 9 lengths on level terms. On todays terms you would expect Action Master to give Mosstown a very good run for his money. 5/1 Hills/B365
12.45 Donnas Palm was runner-up in the Royal Bond at this meeting last year, only beaten a neck by Hurricane Fly. He lost his way towards the end of last season but looked rejuvenated when he returned in a flat race at Navan in October, running out an easy winner. He was a very simple winner of a listed hurdle at Punchestown on his last hurdles start before finishing runner-up in the November handicap on the flat. He has won on both occasions hes run in hurdles on ground with heavy in the description. He does have to give 9lbs to main danger Mourad but I think hes in good enough form to do so and its worth noting that Mourad has still only won once over obstacles. 5/4 PP
2.30 Newbay Prop (each way) landed a major gamble when he won this race for Tony Martin in 2006. He went off favourite in 2007 but never jumped and had to be pulled up. Newbay Prop seems to always need his first one or two races each season. In the 06-07 season he was unplaced in his first two runs and then won this. In 07-08 season he was once again unplaced on first 2 runs and then won the Paddy Power handicap chase at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Last season he was 6th of 8 first time out and then won next time out in a Navan handicap hurdle. No surprise then to see that he was well beaten in a Galway handicap hurdle first time out this season but hopefully he will come on plenty for the run and go close in this race. All his wins have come on ground with some give and hes won on heavy. He runs off 128, which is 11lbs higher than his last winning mark but if there is market support for him then I would give him solid each way chance. 9/1 B365
3.00 Jessies Dream (each way) won his first race in 2008, when landing a 3 mile point to point on soft ground. He followed that up with two good efforts in bumpers (4th and 2nd). He was off the track for 10 months before he won a bumper in January 09 over 2m3f at Naas on soft to heavy. He followed that win up with a win in a 2m2f Thurles maiden hurdle on soft and then put in his best effort to date when winning a 2m4f hurdle at the Punchestown Festival in April, beating Noble Prince and Uimhiraceathair into 2nd and 3rd with Solstice Knight in 4th. Noble Prince and Uimhiraceathair finished first and second in another Punchestown hurdle on their next starts (had Zaarito back in 3rd) and Solstice Knight finished runner-up to Sports Line on his next run, in a beginners chase. Jessies Dream has joined Gordon Elliots yard over the summer and Elliots horses are in super form, indicated by a cross channel double at Thurles and Musselburgh yesterday.
Jessies Dream needs a trip and this 2m5½f on heavy ground looks ideal, as all of his wins to date have come on soft or heavy. 7/2 Hills
3.30 The surprising act about this maiden is that in the last 10 years Willie Mullins has not won it once, although he has only had 2 runners in it. On form the pick looks to be Tornado Shay who won a bumper on his first start at Leopardstown in January and was then a good 3rd behind useful performers Universal Truth and Blackstairmountain in another Leop bumper in March. He did not run his race at the Champion Bumper at Punchestown in April but bounced right back to form when travelling powerfully and running out an easy 8 length winner of a 2m Galway bumper on soft last time out, the form of which looks solid. T**nd OMara thinks alot of him and I think he is the one to beat in this contest. 9/4 PP/Hills

Slowhit emerged from the gloom of a cold Fairyhouse on this day last year to win the Sadbrokes (now Bar One)Hcap Hdle off 127 at generous odds of 4/1. A funny race (I'll say no more...). He's now rated 165. Thousand Stars running off 125, could we see as much improvement in him?
For my money the 16's with Laddies on Fen Game is tempting but I could never bring myself to have a bet with that shower despite them being such a standout....
