Noticeable that no horses came up the middle. Colm Murphy was very concerned before the first race.

Time for 1st was 22.3secs slower than last year(off: good to yielding). Looked like slow dead ground to me!!

Horses didnt seem to come home that well in the first. Think rain from lastnight has got into the ground and if it continues in next two hours it must all point to Notre Pere in the big one

Fentons number of winners have gone up each year he's been training, also been winning/featuring in better races, this being the pinnacle...from what i've heard i don't think he was too upset Dunne left, not too different from his brother that one...

AMATEUR jockey Brian O'Connell will join the professional ranks before riding Supreme Novices' Hurdle favourite Dunguib in Sunday's Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
O'Connell has partnered Dunguib on every one of his career starts, highlighted by an impressive victory in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper last March, and feels now is the best time to lose his amateur tag.

"Having Dunguib to ride, so early on, is a dream come true and I had a great season as an amateur last year," said O'Connell, "but it was always part of the plan to turn professional, and after discussing it with Philip we've decided now is the best time.

"I think I need to turn [professional] if I'm to further my career so I will do it either for Woodbine Willie on Saturday or wait until Fairyhouse on the Sunday."

Having only ridden 43 winners on the track, O'Connell will still be able to utilise his 3lb claim until he reaches the 55-winner mark.
