The misjustice of it all etc etc is been lost in a KEY ISSUE. Firstly McShane was at fault, however on looking at the replay for the 1,000,000 th time its worth noting Shay. Instead of smothering Henry his first reaction is to lift his arms and look for a free to the referee. Clearly he though, in that split second, that it was so obvious there was no need to attempt to save.

I'm not in any way faulting Shay Given who aside from been a brillant goalie is a genunine sound lad with no airs and graces which is rare for a footballer of his stature.

Andrews Kilbane and Given did what an U-9 player wouldnt do. They waited for the whistle.

Hands up lads fair cop.

i dont think mcshane was at fault he judged it perfectly that nobody could possibly control the ball legitimately with the pace on it, and he was 100 percent correct, if hed have tried to connect he could have knocked it back to an oncoming striker to finish.
There was no way in a million year henry could have controlled the ball without using his hands, so mcshane was correct to leave it.
