Write to Gilette . Only way . Vote with your feet . 1000 letters on the P R O's desk in the next few days and the ads may disappear , after all would you want your product to be associated with a ** .
Guarantee you at least one of his co-advertisers will have a word in someones ear at Gilette .

I mean , one of them is a golfer , and golfers call foul on themselves . Unlike soccer where **ing and sailing as close to the wind as you can is par for the course .

I would rather boycott Paddy-Power,as usual they are playing the good guy offering customers their 2 euro back they had on Ire to win the WC.BIG DEAL Paddy but i would just prefer if you stopped offering me SPonly in your shops. And using the word "arse" on your homepage is just plain tacky.

Thank you for your email.

Gillette is aware of the HENRY handball incident......... Thierry Henry has publicly acknowledged that it was a handball. It is not our place to comment on the refereeing in this match. The incident does not affect his relationship with us.

Kind regards

Gillette

Love the fact that they somehow see it as a refereeing issue!
Report Kelly November 19, 2009 12:37 PM GMT
Cant believe that Gillette are naive enough to think that the issue is about refereeing or Henry admitting his guilt .

The issue is that they have an acknowledged che*t advertising their product , along with Tiger and Roger . Think those 2 will want to be associated with a che*t ? Wise up Gilette , just take him out of the ad .
Report Gloria Victus November 19, 2009 12:57 PM GMT
I'd be surprised if Tiger and Fed know that he is in the ad. Henry is been added digitally to the ad as far as i know for a non US audience as the original ad featured Derek Jeter of the Yankees.
Report Kelly November 19, 2009 12:59 PM GMT
Easy to take him out then Gloria . Wondered why Henry , who is past his sell by date anyway , was in with 2 legends .

I replied to their reply:

I do not ask you to comment on the referree.I want you to comment on how you can have a **ing** advertising for you? I apologise for my language but that is how Thierry Henry is now regarded. And Gillette by association will be known as the **ing**'s sponsor so your products will be the products of a**.

Again apologies for the language but it is factual.

Kind regards,

Irishlad - I gave up writing those letters after John Power ran nine steps did an Eddie the Eagle dive and DJ stepped up to bury the penalty and Uibh Fhaili (lost my religion that day too :( ).

I never got a response but we didn't have fancy e-mails back then and I just adressed it to Pat Delaney Laois. I wonder did he get it yet? Hard to make contact with anyone in that wilderness.

KK, us Kilkenny lads never could really count. Add DJ and Fast Eddie. Anyway, I gave up believing when the back door was introduced. How can ye lose a Leinster Final and then play the same buggers again a few months later?
Report KK 05 November 20, 2009 10:56 AM GMT
Irish - The kilkenny legs go so fast they are like roadrunners. No steps just a spinning circle. Hard to compete against it.

Henry just isn't quick enough but certainly showed corner forward potential. He would need to carry the ball another 2 or 3 steps to make the Kilkenny team all the same.
Report irishlad November 20, 2009 11:07 AM GMT
Reminded me more of Seamus Darby. Great hand and foot control. But I like having a few pints with Seamus whereas I wouldn't think the craic with thierry would be all that good.

Remember when we all hoped that Henry's kid would play for Ireland because of some dubious Irish connection with his ex.
Report KK 05 November 20, 2009 11:11 AM GMT
Instead of video evidence why don't they make a proper game of it and let them all handle the ball. I'm sure it would work well.

Better again, give them a few sticks and make the ball smaller. Now that would really test them ;)
