The backbone of the team Given/Dunne/Duff/Keane are more than likely all gonna be gone for the next WC campaign- where are the players to replace them gonna come out of? The outlook is not good imo- the under 21 team is a shambles- unbelievable defeat this week, beaten 4-1 by Armenia!!! The whole u21 scene/management needs a complete overhaul. Who are the potential forgotten players plying their trade in England, even Scotland? There must be players who have nt played for other countries who qualify to play for Ireland?

Need Andy Reid back in the team never mind squad. Could you imagine the havoc he would have wreaked last night against that group of shapers?
You're right about the U-21's, it's a disgrace. Kerr should be reappointed as Director of all under age football (including U-21's imo). Maybe that Dixon lad with West Ham will come good though last I heard he was returning from a very serious injury. The future is orange at best. |

It looks like it is time for the reintroduction of the plastic paddy as the future does look fairly bleak.I had no complaints with it under the Jack Charlton era.

We would want to hope we qualify for Euro 2012. Not exactly ideal holiday destinations either! Considering we`ve only been to one tournament since `94 with those players it could get ugly without. :(
