Doesnt look like it, but its football after all, stranger things have happened. Obviously we have to have hope, wouldnt bet on it however.
Report punkha1 November 15, 2009 4:52 PM GMT
Not a **g chance.
Report The Bhoys November 15, 2009 4:53 PM GMT
yeah i no doyler. Its just depressing thinking another world cup supporting england! lOL not. Ireland deserve it! Really thought they cud get a 1-0 last nite!
Report Hemingway November 15, 2009 5:03 PM GMT
sadly no. plenty of heart and spirit but we just dont have the ability.

as the man said, you simple cant polish a turd.

2 hopes Bob is one you know the rest. It'll be like a cat playing with a mouse in the yard
Report adriandc November 15, 2009 6:09 PM GMT
no hope, even if we get that away goal itll probably just prolong the hope/pain.
I nearly don't want to watch it
Report BJG November 15, 2009 6:09 PM GMT
Nope
Report kd109 November 15, 2009 6:26 PM GMT
If we get an away goal, France will just up their game and should have no problem securing the neccesary result.
Report The Bhoys November 15, 2009 6:29 PM GMT
can we get an away goal tho?
Report Cupwinkcook November 15, 2009 6:40 PM GMT
not a hope in hell
Report kincsem November 15, 2009 6:44 PM GMT
Of course we have a chance. The French might try to coast through and we won't go down without a fight. If it is 0-0 in the second half they might get jittery. Its as much about can they do it.
Report Cupwinkcook November 15, 2009 7:10 PM GMT
even if it were 0-0, they'd have extratime as a safety net

and they have a bench, we don't
Report slickster November 15, 2009 7:11 PM GMT
3-0 france. cheers.

Report Diamond_Joe_Quimby November 15, 2009 9:08 PM GMT
They need to throw tactics out the window, wont happen under trap.

They need to break legs, spill blood for the jersey and just physically batter France. Trying to out pass, out pace France wont work.

They need to do a wimbledon ;)
Report thegalwayman November 15, 2009 10:45 PM GMT
I think we can do it and I'll be there to see it happen.
Report punkha1 November 15, 2009 10:58 PM GMT
Honestly if we were 50/1 to qualify i still wouldn't waste money backing it.
Report thegalwayman November 15, 2009 11:01 PM GMT
Will you lay me 50/1?
Report punkha1 November 15, 2009 11:08 PM GMT
What a stupid question.Why would i lay 50/1 when i can lay at 9/1 ?
I wont be laying anyway cos im too patriotic and would love to see it happen but lets be honest its not gonna happen.
Report adriandc November 15, 2009 11:08 PM GMT
I dont think we'll qualify either but Id be too happy to have a punt at 50/1,odds are more like 10/1. I know Ive been negative myself on here but you'd swear France were completely unstoppable the way people are going on. They were poor last night, and they got very lucky with that goal. Its one away goal we need and were back on track to at least try to qualify.
Report Mr Trueman November 15, 2009 11:30 PM GMT
11 grannies would have a better chance...ireland are poor..very very poor.
Report thegalwayman November 15, 2009 11:35 PM GMT
Dear punkha1,

Please stop talking shyte.

Regards, thegalwayman.
Report punkha1 November 15, 2009 11:45 PM GMT
explain please ?
Report thegalwayman November 16, 2009 12:15 AM GMT
Well you don't make Ireland a bet at 50/1, ergo you should be willing to lay 50/1. Unless of course you were talking shyte.
Report Twice Over November 16, 2009 11:28 AM GMT
if we get the first goal, we'll see france bottle it in a massive way. don't see why we cant do it.
Report shaggykev November 16, 2009 11:32 AM GMT
france never surrender in paris

oh wait no
Report anfeild November 16, 2009 1:01 PM GMT
The fact we are going to have to chase the game makes it very difficult. You can always hope. Can't see it myself. Just hope we have a good go. Don't really have the players at present and with what trap has at his disposable i think we've done well. Really need ireland and reid to come back in for the next campaign. Can stand ireland's attitude but he needs to come back as does reid. Reid is playing good stuff for sunderland at the moment and has sorted his weight problem.
Report MayoMan November 16, 2009 1:10 PM GMT
We played them off the bloody park under Brian Kerr in Paris and still only got a 0-0
I cant see how we will get a win playing with an inferior midfield - I'll be watching and praying but not really believing.

Would 'love it' in Kevin Keegan fashion to steal it in the last minute and wipe the smile of Blatters and Platini's smug faces though !

When i could lay at 9/1? Your some fool.
Report KT November 16, 2009 3:52 PM GMT
10/1 to qulaify and 8.4 to win in 90 miuntes
Report thegalwayman November 16, 2009 4:01 PM GMT
I'm just pointing out the folly of your statement punkha.

FYI it is 'you're' in that context.
Report punkha1 November 16, 2009 5:15 PM GMT
You think i should lay something at 50 that i can lay at 9? Id worry more about that than my grammar.

Football is a funny old game, you never know. I would be the happiest man in Ireland if FIFAs disgraceful decision blows up in their faces and all four low seeds win. We need to score before half time. It could go anyway after that.
