Surely it has been well-proven in recent years that lightly-raced is the way to go to Cheltenham (assuming like most owners they want to win at the Festival)? P Nicholls will run Kauto Star twice before the Gold Cup. Dunguib now surely go for Royal Bond, PP Champ Novices at Leop at Christmas and Deloitte. And, god knows what else. At least five starts before March. Shaping up like an odds-against lay to me.

you can say that, emi, but he still had to be trained for them. he still had to be fit to race before the end of october. and then keyed up to go again three weeks later. and the races themselves. not looking like he'll be a fresh horse in march.
