I think Mulhollands are a great bookie - I'm a long time customer - never had a problem with a price and staff are friendly and know the game. Excellent for the oul Gaa

see where one of their managers (loughrea) is up for betting shop manager of the year....well done to her.
remember the quare one from boils that won it a couple of years back....wow what a witch she was. anyone remember her on the morning line and mac asked her why she thought she had won..she said-'because i was the best candidate' no love....ATR=SiS(sponsors) who is ATR's biggest supporters? Spoils....how does that bite ya?...somethin Fox was her name..23 at the time and a fool of the highest order. best of luck to Ms Mulhllands Loughrea though. |

She was a horrible person wasn't she, talbot street if i remember correctly.
|
|
By:
Capel st. i thought, a new shop...was taking full responsibilty for the shops success. Mac said on the morning line in relation to her answer....'no false modesty here' -a cringe worthy moment that was one of the rare times i was embarrassed of my nationality
|

By:
Capel street it is. It's such a stupid competition. As far as i am aware, betting office managers get paid as per turnover, profit etc but when they're asked what they should do if a problem gambler was betting too much, they are 'programmed' to say that they'd point them towards the gamcare leaflets in the quiet corner of the shop. (My Arse, they keep laying him whatever he wants)

Sound man JM. I had a bet off him once at the Galway Races ( he was on the box but not betting under his own name?) back in the days of 'Pencils&Books'. I bet an even 50 one of Welds that won and the man on the pencil had me in for a even 5. Mul said 'pay the man' and I was paid up. Could have gone either way.

Comes over great when he is being interviewed by Galway Bay FM during the festival. Lets us know the steamers etc daily.

By:
a gentleman.met him once in a pub near one of his shops..

joke outfit, take about twenty minutes to decide whether to take bet or not
|

Not a joke outfit. Very fair soccer and rugby prices and top customer service. All of their phone accounts got a complimentary entry to the tote ten to follow in which he gave away many prizes with a top prize of 5k (I was lucky enough to win it last year). I have bet with them for many years and I can honestly say that they care about their customers as you can see it in the way their staff are very well mannered. Also they have organized loads of events for their customers in the past. I am happy to say that the whole family are a credit to Galway, never flash and willing to help the community etc...he was (maybe still is?) a very good counselor. His sons Eddie and Alan run the show now. I would prefer if they guaranteed prices on yankees, L15s etc as other large Irish bookies do.... also they close their shops a little prematurely daily. All in all about the best Galway bookie IMO

anyone know where that fox bird is now??? is she still working in the industry???
|
|
By:
I was in their shop this morning
its only a tenner to enter that in shops and you get into the main comp and the muls side pool sure its a £10 to enter the real comp- so Mul is covering the exchage rate himself and adding a side pool 10K FAIR FECKING PLAY IMO that still wouldnt keep the galwayman happy, the grumpy git |
|
By:
a nice fella himself as are the staff in gort. had a phone account with them in 2006. they closed me after 16 weeks though and sent me the balance in a cheque. big mistake as i just started into a very bad run which took another 16 weeks to get through. punting is a funny old game

Just had a look at their website, dont do horse racing prices. Was surprised to be honest, seeing as they advertise a telebetting service. What kind of customer are they trying to attract I wonder?
