The rider in Q brings nothing to the table imo……watching him ride the Phillips horse at Wolverhampton few weeks back i just pretend it doesn’t exist…..
By:
Only just watched, and not condoning anything, but why that one? Day in day out they overlook jocks not making enough effort, and then this? We know it won't be the start of anything significant. The policing of racing is a total joke. There isn't any.
By:
The representative of Pike confirmed the instructions and expressed satisfaction with the ride on the filly.
So why no penalty for the trainer and the horse banned from racing for 40 days? What needed to have happened for those penalties to have been triggered? |

Dreadful rider tbh……wouldn’t look out of place in the X country at Cheltenham imv….should have stuck to tar spreading tbh… The usual nonsense from Aceform. It was a "Not Off",simple as that. |
By:
Horse has been fairly tenderly handled on all 3 runs, 1 or 2 taps at the most. If he'd kept it right out the back as happens with plenty every day he'd have been fine. Not exactly been ridden for a low h/c mark, so is the insinuation on here that it was lay on the day material?

Whatever the plan was,it is well and truly scuppered now,Swifty

...The same team in action twice at Nottingham later.......interesting to watch.
By:
10 days for that - no wonder they do it...
By:
if you gave them all 10 day bans for that kind of ride, there'd be no racing - no jockeys would be available - I'm not sure how many old clips of exposes of the sport you need to watch to understand how it works - it's deception on deception on deception .... this is the game.
By:
Disagree shooda - this one far more blatant than most.
By:
...all I would add, before I go to the recycling centre....not excusing anything......but if smaller trainers with moderate horses that were destined for a handicapping career played with a straight bat in the early maiden career of the horse , ( when probaby pitched in against Arab owned newcomers destined for a pattern racing career)......they would be doing their smaller owners a great disservice in the horses' career and maybe lose their patronage.
I think as punters, we have to acknowledge, ( not condone), that this has been, and will be the case, forever more..... |
By:
Yes, and it should also be 'tough' if they get caught doing it blatantly, and face appropriate sanctions.
By:
Not a pathetic 10 days for a carp rider...
By:
korr rupt to the core..but when ewe mek it as blatant as fox did expect the wrath.
By:
Having now seen the race, I'm glad the trainer wasn't punished too, and I don't think the jockey should have been either, for two reasons.
1. Fox told the stewards that the filly has been keen at home and in her races, and that would explain why she has been hooded all starts. She does look a free-goer, so not unreasonable for Fox to try and get her switched off. 2. The head-on showed that Fox didn't have a free shot at it up the home straight and had to weave a bit of a passage, so could explain why he wasn't more vigorous as he waited to see where it was going to open up. I would have given him the benefit of the doubt and noted explanations, which tbf is what they usually do! |
By:
I agree George. I'm sure there were 10 worse instances on the day if the stewards had a proper look.

struggling to take in what ewe 2 have just said..2f out im saying to myself..what the fcks he doin.

It was clearly a "Not Off" and the punishment was very fair
