I think AMO got carried away last season buying so many colts. AMO was the underbidder to Godolphin for a 1.8m euro colt. I hope AMO is here to stay. I do not want them to go the same way as Terry Ramsden, the punter the bookies took to the cleaners with glee.

Terry Ramsden certainly lost a few quid to bookmakers, but it was the 1987 stock market crash that instigated his fall from grace, mind you what a good time he had while the Japanese warrants were earning him millions.

As for Kia Joorabchian, i've heard lots of 'chatter' surrounding him in recent months and from reliable sources, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the media reported he had serious financial issues within the next couple of years.

Ais , he has serious serious financial issues - he needed to borrow 100 mil .

I cannot remember the details of his loans. Assuming the average is 10% per annum is $10 which could equate to 3-4 well-bred colts in the sale - a negative against the big boys whose huge capital base will be earning mega interest in the open financial markets.

A double whammy for AMO, unless AMO could attract many new investors eg any rich Arab,Japanese, Chinese, etc.

Oneten

No surprise, one of the snippets of information i heard was 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' but for legal reasons i obviously can't go into detail on here.

He's not getting the high profile stallions he needs to keep his operation afloat, he has a handful at the lower end and the only one with a double figure stud fee is King Of Steel @ 15K euros a pop. How many tens of millions has he spent over the years !
