It started off in a prime-time slot, then having been scheduled again for that time, it was moved to 10.45, and having been scheduled tonight for 10.45, it was replaced by an old James Bond movie, which tbf might be good news for insomniacs!
They did a similar thing with The Staircase, though still did show the whole series on the main channel, even if it did end up being shown at 3 in the morning on a Tuesday.
From what I can glean from online chat, it's to get people to switch to ITV X, where the series can be viewed.
Oh well, guess it's where it's all heading now, streaming platforms.

Streaming is the best way, George. The Rainmaker is probably 40 minutes per episode yet it takes an hour to watch it on ITV. All the terrestrial channels have free streaming services. You just have to create an account.
Standard stuff. Give a programme a couple of weeks on the main channel and then drop it if no-one watches. The irony is that a lot of those who did like the first episode will immediately head to ITVx to binge the rest of the series, so that main ITV will see a fall in viewers.
I've got ITVx Premium for £60 a year, which means no adverts (except if watching live, of course).

as RAMRUNA posts X isnt free if you want to watch advert free, if everyone jut watched X with the adverts and not pay the subscription X wouldnt be around long

I've been watching this. It's not very good, but I quite like it.

He turns up when I post too George-he was stalking me at 4.35 am as well.
Must have nothing better to than stalk anonymous men on an anonymous forum.
I've blocked the nasty drunken creature but seemingly he persists.
Needs to try some, 'other' type of forum if he craves male companionship IMO

Used to love Grisham and would snap up the hardbacks when launched, then suddenly it dawned on me that the same basic story was constantly recycled, and I stopped. They were fluently written though, real page-turners.

It was a mediocre series imo. Says it all when they’re stretching a film into a series these days.
