The form of the Jubliee has worked out very well, providing winners. But the selection Great Wish had ran well in the AL Quoz in Dubai back in March. That form looked tidy too.
Lilt Iād hoped would go for the Yorkshire Oaks to test her over this trip at a track that sheād won at, was running on well last time, the form could look 00 SH after the Arc.
Not sure about Rayif over this stiff mile, theyāre looking at the Forret, he has speed.
Best Secret is a horse that I like but he was an intended for the Grand Prix Du Deauville, missed that and never ran in the Foy. Is seen as being better over 12f and has been off since June. Can see the angle for him but those factors would make me want MORE in terms of Price. He could be entered for the Prix Consul De Paris the consolation ARC but hasnāt been entered for the German G1 after so wonder if heās had a setback?
Canāt back that rogue Jan and at 9/4 can just watch the race.

'Delashay', I cannot have Jan at 9/4 against Scandinavia. He's ridiculously short unless insiders think only one will turn up, and the latter is unlikely; Scandinavia had won a fair share of his assignments so far, but did look lethargic last time. Maybe it's time for Jan to get a Gp 1 win but, I do not want to find out at 9/4 given the shenanigans AOB gets up too.

When asked whether the Prix du Cadran at ParisLongchamp could be next, the trainer: āItās possible. When Ryan came in there he said āwhat about the Cadran for the second horse, to give him a chanceā. āThe third horse could go to Ascot for the two-mile race (Long Distance Cup) and then we could put him (Scandinavia) away for Ascot next year. āYou could go to France and the ground could be very bad for him. I donāt want to abuse him either because heās a made Gold Cup horse. He floats on the fast ground.ā

A very great line that takes us into the mind of the trainer who uses Group horses as hares. So he is selective and does care for his horses, well some of them that is.

If I was not mistaken I read AOB was a "horse whisperer"; the bloke can read the minds of his charges. If so some of his charges are now either rebelling or in a confusing state of mind like some of his fanboys.

As for AOB he talks more and more with no care of how ridiculous he sounds, last year he was saying Delacroix had the speed for a mile, heās said the same about River this year!

The guy who tipped Best Secret for the Champion will be concerned if heās backed him to know that heās entered for the consolation Arc the Prix Consul De Paris. The day after Ascot.
Itād be a big thing to go to a G1 without a run since June.
In the same race Iāve backed Pearled Majesty EW @ 66/1 he has the Arc as an option, I gave my reasons on the Arc thread for why and asked someone to match my bet on him on the exchange, non of those who give it large regularly accepted!
Another forumite has backed A BoyNames Susie @ 33/1 who has been shortened, also today Varianās Saddad is being cut for this and the Arc.

Can;t be getting involved until we know about definite runners and riders and of course ground and draw. Andrew Balding still has the fillies and mare option for Kalpana but like Item last weekend he may be over ruled by Juddmonte and have to run her in the Arc. Sea The Fire ran in Montreal so may not run either. Blue Bolt would be a very strong choice for the mile but she has also run recently.

6/7 btn 5½L Varandir 9-3

Baroud is on a rating of 53 also as is Varindir
Though Pearled Majesty beat him with ease the time before, heās only on 51 still, he has the margin for making up as had been off the track the longest in the Niel 70 days.
Not sure if his rating has been adjusted?
But Iām interested in where he goes next? He has also been entered for the Champion Stakes and Iāve had a little EW @ 66/1
If he swerves the Arc heāll go for the Dollar which was won by Amnatt on his way to victory there.
Varindir is as low as 12ās so the 66ās EW for a race where many will have had a long hard season makes appeal to me

Christiane Head has won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as a coach three times: in 1979 with Three Troikas, in 2013 and 2014 with TrĆŖve. She has not been training herself since the end of 2018. She's still not completely out of the arc.
Pearled Majesty, in which she holds a half stake, could compete in ParisLongchamp on October 4. The stallion is trained by Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez. After his third place in the Prix Niel, it is clear: the Prix Dollar the day before is off the table. Remains the Arc.
Delcher-Sanchez, however, makes the start dependent on the weather: if it rains, Pearled Majesty runs in the Arc. If the ground stays fast, you wait for the Champion Stakes on October

AOB has been reported to have a change of running plan for Scandinavia. The horse could go for The Cadran on ARC Day instead of the Long Distance Cup on Champions Day at Ascot.
The short price of Jan is beginning to make more sense.

Having cashed out at 66/1 yesterday itās shat to see that Pearled has been halved to 33/1 this morning.
Just being given a run out in the Arc but being looked after for here?
Huge negative for the Arc on this likelihood.

Reversal of situation. Tuesday morning, just before the declaration of the second pass, Pearled Majesty left the list of candidates for the 2026 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe even though his coach had confirmed his participation the day before. Attached to the phone, Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez explained this change of program: "The ground will be good on Sunday and it will not suit the horse. In these conditions, there are several horses that are better than us. So we prefer to wait for the rains and run him in Ascot in the Champion Stakes so that he can win the group I he deserves. This morning, he just went on a canter Ā».

She ran really, really well the other day. She now looks much more like her mother Bateel. She is very strong, very different to last year. She might also run in the Group 3 at Saint-Cloud, where I might end up having three runners. She is a nice prospect and hopefully she can climb the ladder.

I have to confess that despite who trained him, I gave Mount Atlas no chance but I,m thrilled for PJ McDonald who has ridden so many of the Balding winners this season. And 6 people tipped him in the Competition!!

Kalpana I know might of had a tough season. But at this track I only see her winning. Im I stupid getting involved at 2.2 with a mare? My only bet this week
We will soon find out

One of Aiden's hotpots out of the first 6. Just Constitution River left to get clear of Balding. Very good run from Talk of new York who might be awesome next year.

Or Ombudsman has improved. Holiday for Havlin? He clearly thought he was last when Almaqam came past him but he could have beaten Constitution River if he had ridden his horse out. Cost Godolphin £17000 but more importantly gave Aiden £17000 extra towards the championship. The trainers cahamps still very open. If Aiden wins the Futurity next Saturday he might still win but if he doesn't, Andrew only needs about £15,000 per week for the rest of the year to overtake him. Aiden only has 17 in the Futurity!!

Theyāre both 5 year olds, many more miles on Calandaganās clock.
Graffard said earlier in the year that he didnāt want to send Daryz over 1m 4f too often as it takes a lot out of them.

Delashay, watch the Champion Stakes again. Havlin drops his hands on Devils Advocate nearly a furlong out but as soon as he realised that Ryan was still behind him, he starts riding hard again and there was only a neck between them at the line. Don't tell me that Rob Havlin did that on a lame horse!

I hope AOB / Coolmore would give Con River another season to repent. At the moment the horse will struggle to get mares in the breeding shed. Similarly, Gstaad.
Once again despite the numerous bullets and funds at their disposal AOB / Coolmore have come up short again. Not one proper Gp 1 winner that was undefeated. At this rate they'll not find anything worthy to join the elites eg Mpntjeu or Suave Dancer let alone Dancing Brave, Frankel, Almanzor or Golden Horn in my life time or theirs, I think.

They were 1.5 and 2 lengths behind Calandagan. Constitution River rated fifth best which is where he finished then Devils Advocate, who might have been third had he not been used as a pacemaker, rated a stone last so he was the only one to run above his rating.

Impossible youāre right, no champ, but I canāt knock the efforts of Gstadd, he went to nearly every major race (moulin being lesser than the Marois) had a busy year last year and itās remarkable that heās gone on this long as they were hard races early summer.
Earlier in the year when asked Baldin said today was the aim for Kaplana, they got swayed after the King George but those hard races took its toll on her. Not great planning.
Sage I meant Havlinās effort of lack of was lame. Doubly lame/bad when you hear what Ruby was saying on the play back.
Sounded like he felt Moore was hanging on desperately to keep him straight.
After Gethin hung in the September stakes Brown suggested the chop was imminent, could be River is now at that stage racing wise and become too coltish to be seen again.

With regards to Gstaad AOB / Coolmore were trying to exact a defeat to Bow Echo. Gstaad has had several hard races chasing the shadows of Bow Echo. He then went wrong, and missed an intended assignment hence the race race in France.
Today he ran like Kalpana - two exhausted horses. I believe Gstaad, Puerto Rico and Hawk Mountain have been mismanaged by AOB / Coolmore.
No more punting in horseracing unless it's a superboost until Cheltenham.

They did, maybe he was cut at Goodwood and not the same? Iām surprised at how theyāve campaigned a few this year.
We have Erdenali to look forwards to against Talk Of New York. As a gelding and if he runs well in Japan, I wonder if Calandagan will go for the Japan Cup on the back of that today?

I think after today that it's now obvious to me that Calandagan has regressed as some on here thought a few months ago but I doubted as I'm always prepared to forgive a below par run...but they're now adding up with him and he's settling on a mark which looks about 6lb light of his best.
I was certain he was not the same horse as last year in the King George for reasons unknown to me (and I'd assume FHG too) and I've said a few times that I was astonished he never picked up Kalpana when he came to challenge at Ascot - watching it live...I didn't even flinch as I fully expected him to bound past her.
I'm now considering maybe that these tough races when Barzalona's given him a great deal to do have left their mark as I can't recall a 5yo G1 horse in several decades that's regressed like him - they never do...and they usually find more.
I was bewildered how Ombudsman was so easily brushed aside by Calandagan in last year's renewal (it's a bigger mystery after today) and I was very pleased to see him take his revenge in style earlier...and I didn't even have a bet in the race - I really rate both of them so I'd love to see Calandagan bounce back in the Japan Cup...before returning next year. Maybe Soumillon should keep the mount in future?
