Betfair budget limits have basically killed liquidity

I'd say it's increasingly obvs on test match cricket mkts...it's virtually only in-house and second hand asian money brokers these days...huge sums matched but only occasionally..virtually silent the rest of the time...which is not at all how it used to be when actual matched totals were so much lower..

have traded cricket markets for over 20 years so I have some clue before the inevitable bs arrives..

US racing been very poor for a long time (years) on here.

UK racing not great, but still far more consistent on here if you want liquidity.

Will it change under the Tories or reform ? I hate both of those parties but this is a ridiculous state of affairs where people are not allowed freedom of choice with their own money .

you have the same freedom of choiuce as you had 60 yrs ago,40 yrs , or yeterday,whatever amount you want on get out of your armchair walk around the betting shops   in town, on track  and put it on

its only in running thats being controlled by technology...obv most are being restricted for depositing.

I can only get on with 356, and I've never been asked, but I don't bet much. I've seen people on here required to give lots of details.

i only have 2k on a long odds on or place dogs bets for a friend.

How was it stopped - well they wanted to see my statements and income and I showed them the bit I make from trading and a bit from betfair, a rental from a house and some savings and they said that I was still only allowed 100 a month deposit.

They wanted to see payslips and 3 month statements. So I went and got a job for 3 months (hence why I have been away from here), showed 2500-3000 per month income (my last deductions was 423 for the week!!!!) and they said 'ok - now Dave from security wants a word!'

So that's me done. When people keep changing the rules, moving the goalposts, its time to laugh it off.

I think this may go back to a paddy power block on my account from 2011. I bet a dog at 9/2 at Wimbledon. It won. Powers blocked me. Obviously at the time they DID NOT own betfair. But now they do.

So the question is - after seeing the state of the volume - is it worth trying to find a work around? I am genuinely stunned at the drop off in 4-5 month

So now the 100 a month deposit limit has gone and the account is suspended - subject to having a phone call with 'Dave from security'.

Funny innit - I am wealthy enough to pay over 400 quid a week to the government in deductions, but only worthy of a poxy pony a week on here.

Even more ironic - I only held a bookies licence (both pre and with Gambling Commission) for 15 years.

It was a temporary job at night and I was on an evil tax code. I did it to get the payslips, to help with this nonsense and cos it paid well.

But I am at a stage in my life where I would rather trade on horses, dogs and correct scores and spend time with my family, than drive a lorry at night.

Can I earn more on the lorries - yes. But I could earn enough on here - until they started being lemmings.

BETFAIR has overseen a massive transfer of wealth from the gullible to the savy/cheats/conmen and ruining  horse racing whilst it happened  was just a by product

If the call goes ok...no reason why u won't get minimum 5 hunner monthly in ere minimum . With them wage slips.....should really be able to get a grand........if u were just getting  pension or showing savings.....I think ud be on a hunner a month like loads on ere

The bet will be refered to a trader, although that's the norm these days and for quite some time, but not if you use the terminals as i do occasionally. I've had a few restrictions with the price using these, but then i simply go to another shop. I always take a photo of my bets so i can keep track and i still have them. This year i've had quite a few over 500 in the shops, Diamond Necklace at Chantilly, Ombudsman at Meydan and Final Demand at Limerick to name a few- Last year 800 on Ka Ying Rising (settled at 4/5 after a dispute) with Coral in Crawley. I've had to show ID on a few occasions (i used my EU residency card) but they did not copy it and only once have i had a bet refused, many years ago. I wouldn't provide any details other than my residency card. I don't have a specific choice of shop, but if i had to name the ones mostly used, it would be Coral in Crawley and Coral or Ladbroke in Hounslow (close to airports i use) other than these, many in the London area. Generally i prefer going to the course if i want a proper bet anyway (or here).

The point is,P/L bets are accepted blindfolded,AIS,unlike horse bets
