That filly is Lapothose 25/1 who was beaten in the German Oaks.
Evita and Habibi were beaten roughly the same distance by her in the Saint - Alary then in the Prix Diane by Diamond Necklace.
In the German oaks the winner Soreanga looks SHot and she’d beaten colts earlier in the year, Loucas who runs today 1.05 Baden Baden
He’d placed in German 2000 Guineas Burkes Shayem was just ahead of him, the form is working out.
The other horse over priced in the Vermille is Rabbits Foot 20/1 who beat Tiffany earlier this year, finished within a length of Sunly when they met albeit Sunly has finished ahead of her twice.
In the Niel the German Chiefland is like Zaraki unexposed, I’d not want to lay 40/1 about him after his great run in the German derby.

Delashay • September 2, 2026 11:24 AM BST There’s an interesting contender entered that stands out to me in the Niel Chiefland
Was runner up in the German Derby ahead of the same owners Salitos.
He’d been 3rd prior in the Italian Derby, ahead of him was Grand Son Of Dark who ran well at big odds recently at Deauville.
Chiefland isn’t entered in the Arc and the German Derby winner Dandanos ran a stinker next time out.

The highlighted colt went all round the houses during the race in the link, the winner covered much less ground. To run as he did, he must have an engine!

Posted on the Arc thread, watch the race (German Derby) in the link, will he go to the front with Montreal and make a dash for it?
Good luck all.

The Racing Post had the ground as soft on Thursday at Longchamp. The times suggest it was a bit quicker than that. Campo says above that TurfTrax have it as good to firm today.

I took on Avec Toi with the Godolphin horse last time so not rushing to do that again.
Gone with Peintresse each way in the Boussac trial. She has three lengths to find on Amusingly who looks a nice type. She was very keen on the front end and dropped away late on. Second time she was very badly hampered and value for far more than the winning margin when she reversed form debut form with the second. Seemed to settle better when coming away last time. Price looks too big relative to the favourite. Big negative the jock.
Chanced Pink Panthera each way at double figures in the Vermeille. Unfortunately, you can't be certain what you are going to get from the second coming of Boudot. Joined the rest as unpredictable. Awful on Tenability and Cualificar.
Gone with Erdenali each-way in the Moulin, hoping the ground will be soft enough to dent the favourite.
Zaraki each-way in the Niel. Amazing win last time, you would never have guessed he was going to win six lengths. Steps up in class, but perhaps he is progressive enough to take that step up. If he did win this, presumably, he would be supplemented for the Arc.
Bay City Roller in the Foy on the basis connections made an absolute mess of Daryz's Arc preparation last year. Who wants long odds on to find out whether they will have done the same this year? Whatever the excuse he was tame at Royal Ascot.

Thanks Foyles, and as ever good luck to yourself, and anyone bold enough to put anything up.
Ignore that rubbish about Zaraki and the Arc. Hadn't noticed he had been gelded before his last run.
Avec Toi no superstar on that run. Desperate.

Peintresse has outran her odds, but she probably needed it a lot softer to have pushed for a place. She was staying on again under the feeble Hayes drive. The quicker ground probably against my other bets.

Pink Panthera keeps pushing its limits since its first steps and remains on a beautiful victory in the 170th Derby du Midi, a listed race that took place on 23 May at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat. Entered in the next Prix de Diane, the daughter of Chachnak could well, if the ground does not soften too much, be at the start of the group I contested over 2,100 meters (Prix Diane) : "It will all be a question of ground for Pink Panthera," said Patrice Cottier, his point director. Indeed, if it is estimated that the track will be too flexible for its abilities, it will not be at the start. In any case, at the moment, she is on fire.”

Which was why (that and beating Regal Parade runner up to Alam in the Greffulhe) I was on her @50/1 EW for the Diane
Boudout felt that she was outstayed last time over the trip. Which was on quick, Fabre had said he might pull the fav Space Waltz on account of the ground quickening up at Longchamp on Bastille Day.

survie 7 pound clear on the ratings but a few unexposed improving types who could rate higher , romantic symphony ,rabbits foot ,sparan nuer had a hardish race last time but is tough and seems to be improving but too short for me ,i like a couple of pokes in these type of races and will pick another nearer the off on here ,something that may look too short can drift a few mins before the off and become a value play (similar to aventure a few weeks back which was shortish with the firms but drifted to an attractive 10.5 just before the off).

A pleasant surprise. Erdenali doubled in price, but has travelled like a classy horse. It looked like this ground was a plus. Pretty woeful from Gstaad. Bookmakers rejoicing.

The trainer of Gstaad is over-rated. An endless access to very well-bred horses yet has never produced a semblance of the likes of Frankel or Dancing Brave or Enable or Almansor.

O/T I looked at Kimi Antonelli (F1) for today's race at Monza. He was 33/1 to win and 3/1 for a podium. Now, he's 1.07 to win. He's catching Russell hand over fist to win.

Nice to see Friendly Soul win another Group 1 after a year off and the "hole" incident at Haydock.
Well done DD in the Moulin. Looks a nice horse.

He beat Graffards Mandaba, hope some has a look.
Lapothose, last dreadful.

Delashay 19 Jul 26 18:12 He was drawn 1 on the rail, it happens at Chantilly loads, also Barza was scrubbing a way out , it weren’t travelling when they quickened, head held to the left.
Horse been hyped.

Cheers Foyles. Obviously happy with that, but in an interview on Thursday Graffard said he is not in the same league as Daryz and unlikely to take him on.

The win of Varandir advertises the win of Maltese Cross. The former finished 4th to the latter; the latter just got up to win after experiencing traffic congestion in running. I think if Daryz wins in a canter he'll be a very warm fav for the main event next month. Otherwise, Maltese Cross could usurp him for the top in the market.

Maltese Cross had had a nightmare run against Varandir and Alam last time. So far I do not think we've seen the winner of the main event next month yet.

Daryz despite winning his trial? The race was run to suit yet did not impress me. Bay City Roller was the hare. The ground was probably too quick for the runner-up too.

It was a run out for both of them, the racing manager said why not run two? (Daryz and Varindar) seems an odd thing to say.
The tattersalls form is working out well with 3rd Saddad winning in Germany today.
The KG & Yorkshire oaks not looking so good after today.

4 secs slower than the other two races, I’ll await to see what he finds off the bridle in a true ran race, seeing him find nothing at Ascot means I’m not backing.

Just going back to the Niel would O'Brien had been overly bothered had Montreal nicked that race? When a leader goes that far clear the worst place you can be is on the front of the chasing pack effectively giving the rest a tow. Benvenuto Cellini has run a shocker, and Zaraki no race at all. No idea why Zaraki was given a completely different ride this time.

I think they will be over the moon with that performance from Daryz. He made BCR look like a handicapper. At Ascot, apparently he was shouting at all the other horses all day. Ran his race before the start. Deserved favourite.

One of your best temper tantrums! Because they didn’t follow your race planning they, “Made an absolute mess of Daryz’s Arc preparation….”
Yet still won the race!
What a statement from the forum misery!

varandir at 20/1 assuming everything is fine after todays performance looks fair imo ,neemene routh said he probably needed the race and and if all is well why not have a go at the arc ,agree nota lot between vara, maltese cross and alam last time and varadan looks to be improving and lightly raced has shown he is going the right way and room for plenty more to come .
