The thing about Irish maidens imo is that because they have far fewer races, their maidens tend to be filled with a lot of horses who don't really belong because it's the wrong trip or the wrong class but they have to be there because Ireland just doesn't offer the choice there is in England.
But I've never studied it so could be wrong. That's just my approach. What it means is I don't get wound up about non-triers because for most of them it makes very little difference because they are not in a race they can win whatever they do. |
