Going back a bit now but a teacher friend said whenever he covered history classes, they always seemed to be doing the second world war from one angle or another.

how would anyone supposedly steeped in British racing use metres when referencing race distances accidentally. they wouldn't. it's designed to portray 'something'. only he knows exactly what. The 'machine' is the only other individual I'm aware of that does it regularly on rtv.
