Correct ! Very overrated sports people are flat jockeys ! Most young lads who could do the weight could be riding winners after 12 weeks training ! Given the horses he rides .

99% horse , Ivory moon , any jock would win on it ! But it`s another winner for him

saying that, Crowley was a Kempton jockey, he used to really use the cut away before most.

and then went for champion jockey...and then got the hamdan job,I always thought he was very limited....so there's hope for billy yet

Crazy days, including crashes. They would still do it if allowed.

Billy gets the BEST horses home sometimes , he`s not outstanding , most lads get his rides home ,,,,,,

There are so many poor riders on the flat, he is already ahead of 80/90% of them, so he is more reliable than most. Also you know at the moment he's always trying to win.

Moore horse is plum average. Always too keen. Not a lot Billy done wrong, tried to settle him, horse didn't find enough.

Found more than the rest of the other horses during the final furlong .....

I like Jockey's that win on horses i have backed. They are all useless otherwise

It looks like the RP have their own version of Jinxy albeit with opposing views of young Billy. Their reporter Sadie Iddenden ( who ) asking the question if he could beat Sir Gordon Richards flat record of 269 winners set in 1947 or even APs over jumps of 289. Certainly possible but a completely pointless comparison given the different era's and circumstances.

It begs the question of where does the RP find these people who don't seem capable of understanding the historic differences between what Billy is achieving and what has gone before with Sir GR and AP e.g the amount of racing, different code (AP), transport etc etc? Whatever Billy does achieve it will be an outstanding effort from a very talented rider contrary to Jinxy and co who would probably have made similar comments about Sir GR.

It is a number. All records are just numbers.

Sure, things were different in Gordon Richards' day, and Lester's too come to that, but the record is a number that will or won't be beaten.
