4 places counted according to the Tote site.

Same nonsense in the 5th race, down to World Pool rubbish
The fav, Primo lara finishes 4th of 16 in a handicap Counts as going through in the placepot, but not in the actual race place dividends... Only paying 3 places there Sort this out ,T0te |

Which site are you using Mr Spock? I thought the one I linked was the official Tote one?
|

I'm with you Longbridge

So, let me get this right. 16+ runners in a handicap and obviously the first four home are ‘placed’. Yet if you backed a horse to place on the Tote, you’d only get paid out on the first three?

Tote 4 Plcs P/Pot 1.50 & 4.10.
Only 3 Plcs 1.50 & 4.10. |
|
By:
Exactly, Kenbo, presumably because of World Tote rules
But to complicate it further, the first 4 went through on the placepot That's why we're saying it's a ridiculous situation |
|

As Penzance says
|
|
By:
Whether this is right or not, the World Pool pays 4 Plcs only if there
is 21 rnrs or more. |
|
By:
Sounds like that was the reason then, Penzance
I would imagine there being a few arguments at the T0te windows on track |
|
By:
If they all run in the Ebor (22 rnrs atm), see if they pay the
4 Plcs. |

Its pretty straight forward, placepot rules never change, only the Tote places causing confusion on "World pool " meetings.
On World Pool days, the Tote Placepot operates as normal across the first six races of the designated meeting, but benefits from massive global liquidity commingled by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Place terms strictly follow international rules (e.g., 3 places for 7–20 runners, 4 places for 21+ runners). |
|
By:
I’d guess most punters betting a place on the Tote would expect to be paid out on fourth place on those two races. Changing our standard place terms because it’s a world pool is ridiculous.

Thanks GC - not exactly well sign-posted IMO.
|
|
By:
I used the official Tote site but clicked the Placepot link for York then the result of the race which showed the first 4.
|
|
By:
... Thats right, the 1-50 race was a handicap with 19 runners, therefore the first 4 go through on placepots.
The confusion sets in as only 3 Tote places were declared as per World Pool rules. Longbridge, I Totally agree that not enough is done to make the punter aware of these World Pool meetings. |
