They have an expert talking about a well used phrase here, “Autism.”

A sound bite says, that the spectrum is now so wide that more people than they think could now be included.

Take a moment from your well trodden routine and educate yourself. Wink

Don’t ever think that the name calling gets to me, but you should know that, “Austic loon” are two words that should never be used together.

Is autism often discussed or even mentioned on this forum? Studied autism at university decades back but it has changed its meaning since then to be much broader. Anyway, good luck.

Some people used to be regarded as'different' when we were young, but mixed regardless.
An ex pal of mine was a leading child psychiatrist, and often commented that a lot of
parents wanted a label for their children, whether it be ADHD or autism, so that they
wouldn't be accused of poor parenting.

That’s a good point Saddo and it seems to be an American thing to label. I myself think that we’re far too keen to place labels on our youth.

They’re talking about a potential conflict for the Artic right now. Thanks Ram same to you.

“Ballistic” by Frank Gardener a fictional account of what might be, based in parts on reality.

His concern was, that a 'diagnosis' usually meant medication.

Where there is money to be made, there is 'neurodiversity'

Jeremy Vine is a Grade A moron who is blessed to be employed

Liberator I agree with that, Mayo and his tram were great, Wrighty and Ken, lots gone through health now and the guy that runs it, who I’ve said has far too sway at the BeEB.

Even that other guy has been doing adds where he says, “What has the BBC done for me?”

As he’s been well employed by them it’s disgusting that he was paid for that!

“socially awkward and communication problems.”   Lots of irony in that.

Were lines repeated by the “”Experts””

And Saddo yes Meds are reached for or prescribed far too soon from ticking boxes.

Plenty on here were on the Spectrum. Me, I was on the Commodore 64.

Quite correct - busyfool

The world appears to have become overrun by - 'Poor Me' People

Whilst there are genuine cases - with the most distressing being Children with somewhat severe Autism who do not even 'connect' with their Parents - That, surely, has to be an intolerable nightmare -

They now appear massively outnumbered by many of those with these 'diagnosis' who are then simply using it as an excuse for bad behaviour, and quite often as an excuse when they end up in Court because of Criminal activity, too.

- and, of course -  for conveniently getting onto the PIP Payment scheme, too. Sad

The Ross Revenge is still afloat busy but they are fundraising to take her in to dry dock for proper inspection and repairs.

They have a special weekend this week where they are on a fundraising drive and playing listeners top 500 tracks, great stuff. None of this chart rubbish.

They mainly broadcast from studios in Kent these days or from presenters homes. With occasional weekend broadcasts from the boat.
