A friend of mine has a daughter, aged 8.
She was telling me about her daughter's friend - 'Aubrey' I said - 'She has got a boyfriend at 8 years of age?' No - she replied - 'Aubrey is a girl at school. 'No'- I insisted - 'Aubrey is a boy's name - has she, have you, got the name right?' 'Yes', she replied - 'SHE is called Aubrey'. I was unbelieving - as the only AUBREY I could think of was ... 'Aubrey' BOYCIE in 'Only Fools and Horses'. ![]() ---------------- No doubt - salmon spray - has still got pictures of fiim star actress Audrey Hepburn on his bedroom wall. ![]() |

As I am sure you will know - salmon
Her full name was - Audrey Kathleen Hepburn (née Ruston; 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993) She may have changed from being known as/referred to - Audrey - to Kathleen - as her career progressed - - as she was afraid of being mistaken for American film star - Gene Autry Where are we going, now .... a bloke called 'Gene' -- that's a female name, isn't it? ![]() |

I was thinking of Katharine Hepburn ( b.1907 ) and no relation but was Bogie's missus as well as a big star in her own right.
The best mess was caused by Evelyn Waugh who married a woman called Evelyn. As Waugh was strongly rumoured to be bisexual it makes you wonder. |

By:
Katharine Hepburn used to knock about with Spencer Tracy.

- penance.Could have been worse .... Marion Morrison = John Wayne He, John Marion Wayne, and fellow cowboy actor, Gene Autry, may well have made a good couple. |

Talking of "odd" names...
There's a new, to me anyway, reporter on BBC called Julia Caesar Don't know if she married into the surname, or the parents sense of humour Either way, she gets the "thumbs up" from me |

I knew a guy called Marshal Sheriff.

There was also Danny La Rue companion, and Aussie musician...
Wayne King...I kid you not |

And brother Jo King

Sorry.Katherine Hepburn was indeed Tracy Spencer's smooch. Bogart's was Lauren Bacall. I tend to get the two mixed up. HHopefully they didn't.
I didn't know Hilary could be a boy's name until Mr Benn appeared. On the Caesar theme one of the leading cricketers of the mid-19th century was Julius Caesar. I always assumed it was an alias, but apparently not,the family name was Caesar. Perhaps Julia is a relative. |

Going back to Ashley Lewis for a moment. He his now 3rd in the Jockey Apprentice title. Has the best winning % of those lads and is showing a small level stakes profit on hi rides.
His Great grandfather lives in Tarleton and has been a dear friend for almost 50 years, he his not in the best of health but watching both of his Grandsons has been a real tonic for him. It will be nice if Ashley can do it and he is going flat out for it. |

He does indeed look a decent rider. he got a double up at a track I was at a few weeks ago, which left me rather out of pocket.
