They state: “The recent track repair on the Outer course will remain visible for the remainder of the season. All races will be run on the Inner course.”

So, we're back to Haydock running all it's races in the inner track (the one you can't see from the stands, so you end up just looking at the 'big' screen tv).

Something is wrong with that outer track because Kirkland Tellwright NEVER raced on it apart from the Temple Stakes/Haydock Sprint Cup days. When I spoke to him about this a few years ago, as a then regular Haydock racegoer, he said it was 'to preserve the ground'.

The new clerk was racing on it a bit more (well, on Saturdays) and almost straight away the ground gave way.

Never been the same since they did all that groundwork about 20 years ago.
