What on earth is the strategic plan behind AMO racing other than to try and part with as much money as they possibly can whilst having the least success for that amount of money. Why has someone not been given the boot for the complete failure of this organisation, what is the role of Kia Joorabchian, because if he is heading this up why has someone not shown him the red card. With all that money flooding in they should be doing way better, maybe they should try and emulate Wathnan who are making a real go of things, to think they paid two million for GHOSTWRITER!!!!!!! they are fast becoming if not already a laughing stock, they must be suffering huge losses.

It's as if it's sabotage from a trusted employee...who secretly despises Kia. Whoever's ultimately responsible for their purchasing advice should hang his head in shame because he's clearly out of his depth and pushing trolleys around a supermarket car-park may well be his area of questionable 'expertise' - he should be signing on the dole! I really do believe if they did a lucky dip and chose a team of three racing enthusiasts on here to advise then they couldn't possibly do any worse...even with The Iron involved  They may as well have played bingo with the catalogue book numbers at the sales!That idiot in charge must have had minimal interest in the sport until recently and with literally more money than sense has probably saw what Coolmore, Juddmonte & Aga Khan have spent decades doing with a breeding operation and figured it's a gold mine! I'm not aware of Wathnan's finances (I'd surmise the Emir of Qatar isn't on his ársé) but whoever gives the nod with their purchases is doing a decent job - maybe Kia should do some headhunting? PS - speaking of Wathnan...can anyone remember a horse in the late 70s called Weth Nan? I have vague memories of him running against the great Kris in around 1978/79/80. |

I wish AMO Racing well. I firmly believe a consortium of the well-established big boys eg Juddmonte, Shadwell, etc, ought to pool their resources together to work on a specific project to compete and marginalise that of Coolmore.

I think if Kia had a 2nd go he'd have gone for proven colts and mares of 3 yrs and older to establish a breeding enterprise with a regular source of revenue to negate expenses. This will allow a period of time for the venture to bear fruit.
Nevertheless, the income of Kia is easily procured with not much effort or hard graft. |

Jockey choices are poor, trainer choice just seems wrong, purchasers just seem mad, none of it seems to have any thought.

I'd say he's been pretty unlucky in general. you can't say he hasn't tried everything. trainer ,jockey , bloodstock agent switches. He's not bidding 5mil against himself; plenty thought Poker could prove the second coming.

I hope AMO manages to snag another freak like Frankel. I'd like to see a "David beating Goliath" phenomenon in the Sport Of King. This can only be good for the sport, supporters and punters. At the moment it's a blatant disregard of sportsmanship ie win at all costs eg a "professional" jockey aiding and abetting a behemoth to hinder an opposition and best horse in a Gp 1 race at Royal Ascot - the showcase of British Horseracing event.
