I posted the below - This morning - on your Yesterday's/Wednesday report.

You probably have Not had chance to see it ....

------

I am intrigued by the Opening PHOTO on the Report. (Wednesday)

Simon looks like an Ice Cream Seller - wearing that Pink striped Blazer.

BUT - Who is the older bloke in the background?

All 'toffed up' - but in the most inappropriate clothes...

A full-length Royal Ascot Morning coat - complete with waistcoat - grey flannels, and either Blue shoes or Trainers, even.

All in 30 degrees heat !

Looks like he could be 4/7 for the Dementia Stakes.

Equally worrying - The woman with him looks something of a Ringer for - Maureen Haggas.

Lester isn't making a comeback, is he?

Onlooker, the tails and waistcoat guy is a regular at Goodwood.  Really nice chap.  Got shares in hosses in the Goodwood syndicates. On the same Chi station bus as us on Day 1.

Forgot to add.   "4/7 for the Dementia Stakes" is crude and inappropriate, and not like you at all.  Or at least how you used to be.

Evening blackbarn - and good to here from you.

As you are without doubt the Forum's resident Goodwood correspondent I should have foreseen that you would know the answer to my query, and thank you for your insight.

I, too, felt that it would be somewhat inappropriate to put a smiley Happy at the end of that sentence - so, sadly, the multitudinous attire 'observation' rather backfired.

Looking at his stature, though - if the gentleman continues to dress as fully as that, in this 30 degree sunshine and heat; he will surely be able to  'do' 6st 7lb  in the Stewards Cup on Saturday - assuming he is still a 7lb claimer.  Happy

* oops -  'and good to hear from you'.

Again - 'not like me at all'.
