Leicester: 6 races, a total of 27 runners! Anyone who paid to go should be refunded.

No - It definitely will Not be a Record.

In the days when Sir Gordon Richards was riding 250 Winners a year - with little, or no, Evening racing, nor Motorways or  Helicopters to the races

Many of those Winners would come in Matches (2 horse races) and races with 3 and 4 runners, on UNwatered ground like concrete at such as Chepstow - where he once rode 11 consecutive Winners over 2 days.

Even I, and many others like Loper, Ged, Screaming beneaththwaves - will remember the likes of Devon & Exeter (as it was), Newton Abbot, and Plumpton having such fields when Jump racing resumed in August - before the advent of Summer Jumping (facilitated by Watering Systems)

Leicester in 1996 had 14 runners in a meeting .

We have synthetic surfaces now. Like them or not they have changed racing forever.

Not my cup of tea, but I am old school.

Fewer owners about too and getting worse as the economy goes to pot.

A shame really.
