Yes uptheirons I’m sure your right but it was at 4 when frankel really excelled I know he was very good at 3 ,however if you compare the fields and the performances in the 3 group ones both won up till this stage there wouldn’t be much in it I know frankel beat can ford cliffs but the overall opposition bow echo has raced against is better,I’ve no idea what the plans are for bow echo ,I don’t ever expect to see one as good as frankel but this one is much better than the haggis horse a few years ago which some where trying to compare with him, anyway breeders cup ,lockinge,Queen Anne,a second Sussex the judmonte then finish at Ascot in the champion stakes who knows Surprised

Report Cider July 29, 2026 7:11 PM BST
Sounds daft but Queally was still crapping himself in Frankel's 3yo season, infamously almost got him beat in the SJP. If you think of what he did in the royal lodge, letting the horse go before the turn at Ascot, 5 wide. Lucky for him he was on the best horse that ever raced in England.

On a plus Deptford they have eased up a bit with dress code at one time even if it was in the mid 30s you couldn’t take your jacket off on the negative side the prices have caught up with other grade one tracks.

yes we did universal as well so it was after you went. we also did one that was near cape canaveral, the flagship and biggest ride was still wooden. Now that was an experience Grin We did this ride called duelling dragons, two rides where your legs dangled and as the name suggests, they made you feel like you were going to hit the other ride (dragon). I believe people were killed on it soon after we got home and the ride is no more. The kraken in sea world was my fav.

You heard right - George Boughey said - One of 2 races in France, and then the Breeders Cup.

He said he - 'thought Bow Echo would love it going left-handed on Firm ground'

Thought that somewhat strange statement, myself - seeing that his last 2 races have been Right-handed around a bend (Goodwood and Ascot) preceded by Straight races at Newmarket.

Admittedly he won his first 2 races at Newbury and Haydock - But even Newbury was the Straight Mile.

He must have been in early enough to prepare for the 2000. The conditions for the BC should be fine, but that's an awfully long season to stretch out to travelling to the US for November. I realise he has not had a lot of runs, but they have been tough and it's hard to believe he will still be able to produce his best then without a long midseason break. Clearly, the handling of the horse so far can't be questioned, but France and the BC seems a step too far to me.

Report Andrew-In-Sweden July 30, 2026 10:31 AM BST
Jimnast, Bow Echo certainly has a public following and this could increase as the season progresses of course, although comparisons with Frankel are absolute nonsense, i'm surprised the media persists with it, the horse doesn't need this to sell seats. I agree he should go for the QEII and miss the razamatazz that is the Breeders. I would love him to go to Longchamp during Arc weekend.
