Lulled in by the big meeting, and yes, it's no different.

Had four each-ways:-

Parole D'Oro - Crouch 1 - Last out, never a prayer from the first couple of seconds - that's entertainment!  Horse makes some laboured progress, looks as if he might finish fifth, but loses two places in the last few yards - the 'nearest finish' on the Racing Post is total rubbish.
Haffner - clings on to second, and I get my money back, hurrah!
Quirat - never looks like maintaining his Goodwood record, and contrives to even lose third place behind a couple of bigger prices - bookmakers laughing on the each-way market.
Amiloc - Crouch 2 - very well supported, jock falls off after exiting the stalls claiming to be unbalanced - bet returned as a credit.

About as much fun as hitting your head against a brick wall, and in many ways quite similar. Can't wait to waste some more money tomorrow.

Count yourself fortunate, that Amiloc stake was returned.

I wasn't going to continue this, but I thought it was worth another day just to emphasise how not exactly being too far away may as well be a million miles away.

One win bet, and four each-ways.

Hatteen - looked as if he would win comfortably, but the jock seemed to just sit, and allowed himself to be out muscled by Tommy Marquand.

Princesse D'Orange - very weak in the market and ran accordingly - Moore no difference whatsoever, soon gave up, and horse has probably 'gone'.

Planet Seeker - looked as if she might finish third, but Spencer soon downed tools

The Fingal Raven & Defence Minister - a little bit back having backed both at 28/1, but hugely frustrating as they were not not beaten far, but never had a prayer of winning. Spencer again.

So a small amount back to waste tomorrow.

Thankfully, nothing to waste it on. Diamond Necklace is too short if you are chasing - she's unbeaten, but similarly to Bow Echo is she really that good? The only other one was Shaihaan, but 9/1 three places has become 6/1. Thought he might nick an easy lead, but he isn't a certain stayer, the stable is out of form, and he is ridden by the grinning dodgepot.

One at Galway today, same frustrating result. Meriden had won her last five including comfortably beating Pivotal Attack. Pivotal Attack had lost her last five. Guess which one won and was backed from 10/1-3/1 to do so?
