Bow echo may prove too good....opera ballo wouldn't have won a guineas in that fashion and he got beat by ten bob tony who is far below group one class

That race was set up for Ten Bob Tony. Opera Ballo 9/2 with Hills this evening. The horse to beat imo.

Will not get those odds tomorrow.

How much ground or how many lengths did Gstaad save/gain with the last bend maneuver's on the last bend by the team? BE and Billy found themselves chasing when comfortably/nicely ahead of Gstaad.
Report FOYLESWAR July 29, 2026 8:13 AM BST
wonder if the 2 who ran yesterday will run today? hopefully they will .
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 8:57 AM BST
I just watched the race from yesterday as I didn’t see anything from Goodwood as I’ve been following the Commonwealth boxing morning and evening sessions. It’s become quite addictive!

I’d had my eye on Lake Forrest going into today after his run in the Jubilee, where he was drawn in 1 (low where no one wanted to be) had to tack over and ran on well finishing in front of the July Cup winner Comanche Brave.

He was pushed to 40/1 for today on the back of the news that he’d back up quick.

Looking at the brief shots in the paddock he looked like they’d left a little there, he’s ran to form so needn’t have been fully tuned.
I’d still have preferred him going there first up and this is a step up.

I’d hoped for 4 places in a race like this.

Earlier in the year after he’d won at Epsom Hugo Palmer nominated this race for Seagulls Eleven and mentioned his win at Longchamp. He said it’s come to our attention that he likes a turning track over the mile.

He’s won at Goodwood has lbs to find but as we know Goodwood is a unique track, he was beaten by Zeus last time out who has form with Opera, there might not be that many lengths between them all here.
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 9:00 AM BST
Forgot to say he has a dud draw but he has Oisin.

I’m looking forwards to seeing how the younger horses match up to their elders most.
Report FOYLESWAR July 29, 2026 9:35 AM BST
4 places on here delash i often do the 4 and 3 places and the win on here a big meeting you can get usually  enough on in dribs and drabs over the course of the day .
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 9:41 AM BST
Cheers Foyles good luck fella
Report impossible123 July 29, 2026 9:59 AM BST
I'd be very disappointed if the 3yr olds cannot dispatch this lot of elders back to the stand. I hope that 3yr old is Bow Echo. It's been awhile horseracing UK has an exceptional 3yr old that cleaned-up the 2000G, SJP and Sussex Stakes. Frankel was the last in 2011.
Report FOYLESWAR July 29, 2026 10:03 AM BST
looked at lake forest last night never won over the mile as far as i can see and this likely to be  be run at a scorching pace could still win but that sways me to others i have backed 2 and may end   up backing 3  ,at this level there is not as much between these as the betting suggests ,the top 3 or 4 in the betting obviously have the better chances on paper but this is goodwood where luck in running or lack of it is often crucial ,the 3yos get 8 pound think it was 10lb in the king george only a few days ago ,whatever they may be good enough to see off their elders but i am siding with the older brigade and one that catches my eye at a cracking price is (dont laugh )never so brave who was very progressive last season from handicaps to group class not so good this season but signs of a revival last time and a couple of those races may not have suited and this may be more up his street and hopefully this has been the target pj up and 100/1  plus  and 4 places on here looks fair imo.

Are you seriously mentioning Bow Echo in the same breath as Frankel, impossible?
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 10:05 AM BST
You’d hope so Impossible, last time he had a hard race and Gsstd got closer to him running around the bend. Then Zaverteri has course form and beaten him so looks trappy.

Thats without taking the course into consideration.
Report impossible123 July 29, 2026 10:14 AM BST
'lead on', no! No horse has emulated frankel and Sir Sir Cecil. they were both freaks!
'Delashay', if it was not to be for Bow Echo today eg a hard race at Royal Ascot, I hope Zavateri would win it. The horse and trainer deserve it more than any other except connections of Bow Echo. The bookies are running scared. Bow Echo is only 6/4 boost with two bookies, when it's 2.4 here.

No team tactic plz AOB. I hope you're watching closely, BHA. I hope you'll throw the book at AOB if the same tactic and unsporting behaviours are replicated in this race today.
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 1:55 PM BST
Looking at further form,

Lord Britain was only beaten 6 1/4L in the SJP, a neck behind next time out winner Power Blue who was only beaten a length more at Ascot than he was in the Irish 2000 Guineas.
Report Delashay July 29, 2026 2:09 PM BST
Talk of New York doesn’t re oppose for Godolphin despite pulling early that day. A tip for the older horses?

Rogue Diplomat was well beaten in France second time up this season, 6+L and narrowly beaten yesterday.

As was Qirat who’s been well beaten 9L by both Docklands and Seagulls Eleven.

Missed your write up Foyles, the retired The Pomp liked that one earlier in year.

Fascinating race!
Report impossible123 July 29, 2026 3:19 PM BST
I hope Bow Echo and Gstaad will run to  their best potential.

I think Puerto Rico will do the donkey work with one other runner probably Opera Ballo with Gstaad in midfield, ahead of Bow Echo possibly 3 from the back. At the 2f marker Puerto Rico will begin to back-pedal; Gstaad will be close by to engage against Opera Ballo, with Bow Echo about a length down on this two. A ding-dong tussle will ensue at the 1f marker between this three.

I hope Bow Echo will emerge the victor at the line.

the write ups saying ten bob tony won because of a pace collapse last time maybe so or could be he has improved  again he had to switch in behind horses in the queen anne but still won rated 121 he hasnt got that much to find imo and race could be run to suit 25 ish or bigger on here looks fair imo. win bet for me . seagulls eleven also looks a  big price and as delash says form lines tie in give him a chance at a price could suprise win and 4  places on here  .5 points layed out good luck all. it dilutes it a bit but at big prices dont have to lay out much.

Buick was leading. Soumillon tried to keep Billy in for a touch. This time Billy kept his cool. Soumillon was a spent force, and backpedalling very soon after. As such Moore stole a march on Billy.

Buick weakened; Moore was still over 1l infront of Billy. A crack of the persuader Billy made ground on Moore. And, Billy was comfortably infront at the line.

The correct horse won. More runners and an increased winning margin over Moore.

Ryan made mistake by going at cut off should have waited another half forlong and kept billy inside
Report impossible123 July 29, 2026 5:28 PM BST
I think Moore did not expect Soumillon would drop-off suddenly. I think his mount was "confused.com" post being messed about. Remember Albert Einstein?

The much better horse won. 3 straight wins, and each time on merit. No external aid was necessary.

Best horse won and he’s shown that you don’t need to be a big colt to be good.

Some were saying on the post before today that the 3 years were below average.

That might not look so now not at that level.

Look forwards to seeing the Nassau tomorrow to see how the filly goes against the mares Wink

Or that Oisin had already committed to riding Seagulls?

No Brandy not suggesting that but he’s Baldin’s jockey and had ridden Never so Brave on every occasion that you can see on the post for a non subscriber.
So was thinking he didn’t like him over the mile, be interesting to see if he’s back on over 7f.
