Didn't just scrape home by a Nose (pun intended) at Sandown tonight, but romped in by over 4 lengths.

Certainly going the right way - and if this colt can catch up with his Namesake Cyrano de Bergerac, from the 1980s - then he will do well.

The sire of John Gosden's current Cyreano de Bergerac, Palace Pier, was a top performer - winning the St James's Palace, Lockinge, and Queen Anne, amongst other successes.

The original Cyrano de Bergerac was trained by Willie Hastings-Bass (who later became Lord Huntingdon) and was The Queen's Trainer.

I have rarely felt as confident about having a bet, as when punting one of Hastings-Bass/Lord Huntingdon's horses.

Penny Drops (Cambridgeshire) - Drum Taps (Ascot Gold Cup) being but two who sprang readily to mind.

He could train. With a remarkable level of consistency and Win record.
Trained at West Isley, Major Dick Hern's old yard.
