After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ryan was suspended for 28 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that would have finished first. |

Fairly unlucky. Was arguably trying too hard when cleat, but I think he caught a glimpse of the big screen. Obviously wouldn't have known how powerfully the winner was closing, with moderate assistance.

It's basically the same punishment as someone not off, riding a finish a circuit early, or showboating. Just a tiny oversight, but huge penalty as it impacted the result.
