The 3.16 at Perth today,Sean Bowen rode the well backed fave Atlantic City. It was a fairly moderate run race with Sean on AC tucked away at the back . Three from home Bowen was a good 6 lengths + behind the winner but AC made very smooth headway to actually take the lead at the second last but it was a sprint finish and just got ran out of it . I know things are easy in hindsight but Sean would of known it was a slow run race so why not keep.AC a bit closer or more importantly why not make his move at the last instead of second last ..he must of known it would be a sprint finish
Yes, but why go from last to first at second last fully knowing it was going to be a sprint finish. Had he held on to AC for a bit longer I think he would not of been done for toe and held on . Like I say easy in hindsight .

Seems to me Bowen is turning to the Jamie Spencer of N.H. racing he often holds horses up at the back and sometimes it doesn'pay off No denying he is a good jockey but he is becoming a one trick pony
