Far too many threads are started to criticise a ride or tactics. I prefer to congratulate good performances. Andrew Balding is yard I follow. He has had a frustrating run of places lately but the last 2 days have seen important wins by Scommessa Sicura, Hatteem, Flora of Bermuda and Blue Bolt who is one of the few horses to turn over Aiden O'Brien in a Group 1 this season! Andrew is really good with older fillies and mares as Kalpana and Sea The Fire have also shown. Plenty of runners today on which my fortunes will depend. Subscription will find it hard to beat Haffner but is a decent price while Machadadorf, Alfaraz, Double Rush and Cape Fear all have chances at Newmarket. Jonquil is a huge price and needs to settle better than last time. If he does he could win at Ascot. Rising Bear should win the maiden there.

The most amusing aspect is that they rarely spot a genuinely poor ride

Sage, I concur
Chucked a few of his you've mentioned into multis
I also rate Rising Bear his best chance today

But it is PJ McDonald that delivers the first winner. Didn't really fancy it until the money came and then I did! Jonquil has really dropped the dummy this season.
