So it’s that time of year when we can look at form and discuss the merits of those currently at the top of the market.
Let’s play the game fair but still enjoy the summer season left, whilst looking ahead….

Uk i normally know the evening before, certainly early morning as we know the weather forecast and ground …over there it’s best to keep an eye on Sky racing, the pundits are usually on the button….

It’s worth re watching this race from earlier in the year.
I’ve posted the formlines earlier on this thread, Fabre is without a runner, I though this one might his horse before he went wrong.

AI Overview
French horse racing jockey Maxime Guyon (whose name resembles "Maxim Goyen") described the thoroughbred horse Rumoriste as a "steamroller" (rouleau compresseur).
Following their victory in the Listed Prix de l'Avre at ParisLongchamp, Guyon noted that the colt was heavily built for the 2,400-meter distance. He also indicated that Rumoriste was firmly on track and "bound" for the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris.

Sorry if I’ve confused people, I wanted to show the formlines vs the market and how it seems off, through bias, ignorance or not knowing. (That’s not a slur on anyone.)
I believe bias to be the main reason.
I wondered why A Subronics set his horse on the path that he did? So I looked for a report or view on the horse that he faced on only his second start at Listed Level , Rumoriste.
Back in May he’d said this and had this all planned :
Same story for Bright Light, second under Benjamin Marie, for the German training of Andreas Suborics. This is the best 3 years in his stable. "The horse was good, the winner set his own pace and started off quickly. I think that on a less flexible track, ours would have been even better, learned the former top jockey. But it’s very good, and he will now go to the Italian Derby (Gr. II), then to a group I in Germany (in September, the Grosser Preis von Baden). Finally, we will see with the owners whether to hire him in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or not; it’s a possibility, as is a possible supplement in the Grand Prix de Paris.â€
So he gone to a maiden, then a listed, G2 into G1 where he was beaten a head. There were excuses for his other runs but where did that faith come form?
He must of known that Rumoriste was very well thought of. (That’s my feeling)
From the post this morning , Who will win Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe based on previous trends?
“Maltese Cross is a Grade 1 winner courtesy of his victory in the Grand Prix de Paris, a race that Saumarez (when staged over 1m2f), Peintre Celebre, Bago and Rail Link all won en route to Arc glory.â€
This horse was a head away from wining an all aged G1 yet is priced at 100/1 as though it was a fluke.
The trainers confidence and route says that it wasn’t he decided to keep his horse away from the GPDP and the other 3yr olds already knowing his quality.

Next time out Rumoriste beat … who was on his second start @ listed having taken his maiden. Lacked experience.
Prix Niel and again we have a different result.
(It’s worth comparing RPR’s of both races this and the GPDP (Alam run on those as though it very much was a trial)
Varandir matched Maltese’s figure here.
Either the market is wrong before the draw and the going on the day and Bright Light is over priced? Or maybe the others are underpriced?
That’s my point that I throw out there.
You might run the GPDP over and over with all of them and have a different winner each time?
I’m all posted out!
Will await the draw and see what transpires.
Good luck all let’s hope that it’s a great race and weekend to savour.

Maltese Cross is only 7/2 with 'Starsport' in contrast to DN who's taking a walk here. Connections induced he latter?
It seems a ludicrous price before the draw Impoosible.
I also think that Saddadd is also over looked in the market (40/1) maybe because of who he beat, but he only made his debut in G1’s this year.

Maltese is very short and is no value now unless Daryz draws the car park stall. All will be revealed just after 9.30pm tomorrow unless the market indicates prior.
recent History of winners of the GPDP :
Going back to 2006 Rail Link (who won a small field Arc)
The last Grand Prix De Paris winner to hit the frame was Hurricane Lane 2021 He’d won the Dante but was 3rd in the Derby.
Won the St Leger before the Arc. It’s debatable if Maltese would have won this years Leger.
He was drawn 2 in the Arc that year but found TORQUATOR TASSO and TARNAWA too good.
On that you can see why he was shorter than the others but given the record of GODP winners it’s debatable if he was value in what looks like a better Arc field.
https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/results/2021-10-03/parislongchamp/650780/qatar-prix-de-larc-de-triomphe-group-1
Hurricane Lane started as 5/2 fav.
2024 Sosie won the GPDP and finished 4th in the Arc behind BlueStocking, Aventure, Los Angles. Placed in the Arc a year later as 4 year old.
2013 Flintshire Finished 8th in that years Arc
Placed 2nd in the next two Arcs

That’s me (as said all posted out) , not sure if ATR will be shoeing the draw results later? They normally show the draw on the morning.
Hopefully some have enjoyed the journey, good luck!

remember when thi forum had a 1000 posts adviing people how to make the besr of ARC weekend in paris, wonder how many till go in comparison to 20yr ago, been half a dozen time and the 3 times i went with horse racing abroad were 3 of the best festival away days ive had
Drawing at 11.00….secret out tonight around 20.00 I think
Why is betting suspended here? I understand the draw and confirmation after 9.30pm tonight but why is betting suspended here? A new market could be formed now prior to the draw, etc.
Wake up Betfair!
Wake up Betfair!
Article in todays RP with bookies predicting Daryz could be as short as 5/4 if getting a favourable draw , seemed obvious tbf. The same would apply to any runner in the bottom half i.e shortening and the opposite for those with carpark draws.
Do you take a chance for a price pre-draw or have a bigger stake at shorter odds post draw assuming you are happy with the ground for your selection?
In the case of Daryz the article predicts he could start around 5/2-11/4 if getting a high draw , that imo would still be value given his ability so backers what will you do in regards to your current fancies?

A big leakage after draw and prior to announcement? Watch the markets. Money talks!
will the betting on here be suspended till after the draw is made ?
Who knows? The betfair clowns are a law unto themselves.
Not sure about when a new market might open Foyles, it is the AP market suspended , but the books have said they will keep the market live, little movement so far.
absolutely pathetic, biggest race in the world and we cant bet on it on the echange
Struggling to see beyond Daryz before the draw so had a couple of small ew on Saddadd 40/1 and Meisho Tabura 33/1 with the thought of a place and shortening if getting decent draws. Tbh even after the draw Daryz will be the likeliest winner wherever drawn so might not even bother with another punt post draw.
Who else apart from the Snail Eaters make the Draw and find the need to keep it a supposed secret?

Fav too short other two fodder,a day in hospitality for owners
Of the 8 horses that Daryz beat pre Ascot has won since, Aventure and she was wiped out in the DP Saint Cloud.
One was retired since Sosie, so you could say 7, if he’s invincible why are they running two?
In a vid Graffard said after Ascot we decided to go for the Secind Arc, I doubt that he’d be here if he’d won the POW.
I’d posted quotes where they were up in the air with plans after Ascot and Sid that they had to decide.
He’s facing a different calibre here than he did in the Ganay and D’ispahan.

These lot have previous with putting Barza on the so called first string in the last two Jockey Clubs!
He was on Ridari in last years race when a position behind the Lecouvre ridden Azimpour.
This year Barza was on the little Bro Daryzan who was again behind Doloman (since sold to Australia) again ridden by LeCovre.

Will he find off the bridle? In a truly run race against better opposition than Uthred or Arrow Eagle?
Or was Ascot as good as he was? The form matches up with Minie Hauk after all.
These are things that the press don’t ask.

365 nrnb atm ...obviously we dont know the draw but ive had a few quid with them now and maybe the rest when the draw is known ,daryz i s a worthy fav and graff says he is possibly the best he has trained he may win but at the prices not for me whatever draw he gets and im not sure he is any better than he was last year plenty short enough imo. the 3yos not a lot between em it looks more open than the betting suggests imo, already on varandir and bright light ante post plus a couple of nonners sh,appens ,one who may have been underestimated at a price is friendly soul a 5yo who is lightly raced for one of that age is progressing an opera winner and won the vermille on first crack at 12f a prominent racer who may be hard to peg back a 6 wins 2 place from 10 starts 2 time group 1 course winner kept on tenaciously in the vermille ,gosdens have a decent record in this and know what it takes 25/1 firms hoping for bigger on here and a decent draw but being a prominent racer /front runner could have the speed to get in front early and will avoid any trouble in running
He described Daryz as a 10f horse, Varindir however didn’t run in the PDJC ran over 12f on his second start. Daryz looked like a 12f horse getting whacked over the wrong trip at Ascot.
His class allowed him to win over shorter before Ascot.
Varindir was entered in the Chaudeny
Which I’m not sure if anyone has noticed?, has 3 form lines that are in the Arc running the next day.
Victoire Magique 11/2 3rd fav ws beat 9 1/2L by Rumoriste/Bright Light
Jabracadabra 10/1 was beat 1 L 1/4 by Varandir
The Fav (was odds on) Pierre Bonnard beat by Arc second Fav Maltese Cross 2L in receipt of 5lb

Delbert remains well on target to exceed 500 posts here
Not that I GAF! I’m on a 100/1 + who will hate the quick ground
The only surprise is that you were considered safe to be released
Madness how this can happen in 2026
If want big gala night than do draw
At gala event doing hours befor not letting cat out bag
Open for manipulation red herring all sorts
Can’t bet surly now till draw up
Unless you have wind of it

Run the race tonight and do the draw at the track. Then punters can bet on it.
I had my post removed about leaving hospital before the draw
If they want a big gala night run the race on 1st Jan.

With only 4 appearances in 50 years and a victory, the number 24 on the rope necessarily has a rather flattering success stat of 25%.
If we stick to the most representative numbers, we can separate three positions in the stalls that are significantly more advantageous than the others.
Out of 49 attempts, the horse starting from stall no. 2 won 7 times (14.3%)
Out of 49 attempts as well, the horse starting from stall no. 6 won 6 times (12.2%)
Out of 48 attempts, the horse starting from stall no. 3 won 6 times (10.4%)
See you tomorrow, to find out which stalls it is not good to leave in order to hope to win. Two of them are rather unexpected...

The draws are known yet the betting here is still suspended. Is Betfair shut?
Hold the DN bet impossible she’s not out of it from there
Cart horses vs speedy the books have a lot in the basket
DN is a bonus. She's in the race unless her trainer does a Mr Mullins and withdraws her post draw.
The slow boat Ben is into 12/1 after drawing stall 1. Bookies' ruse.
What price a 're-routing' for Diamond Necklace? Lots of questions to answer in the big one
but after that horrible draw, it'd be a wise move to take on Aventure instead...as quite
surprisingly, she isn't having a third bash at The Arc and staying in the far easier Opera.

A reroute may not be a wise option. Aventure is more formidable opponent at 10f. Strangely enough I think Moore would choose Diamond Necklace. The slow boat Ben is too ineffective even with stall 1. As for Minnie Hauk she's regressed.
As usual AOB / Coolmore are holding up the pilot of their charges.

If Naanas Shadow wins the Abbaye it will be almost as big as winning the Arc. Good luck to her .
Draw has been kind to all on the whole, P ain’t taking any chances on Saddad only go 20’s
And I’m not surprised has 50% win (5) 40% place (4) from 10 starts.
Meisho Tabaru won’t be too phased by 13 he was in 16 here,
Takarazuka Kinen (Grade 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elrYtS7iK6g pink and blue so expect him to break quick.
Chestnut Rocket likes to go forwards.
Never saw Buick getting a ride, Minnie to go forth like she did in the King George to try and get Daryz off the bridle?
Thanks to everyone who got involved, hopefully a few more will put their picks up.

Was with Katie at Musselburgh on Wednesday for a good bit. Although it's great for the yard, the borders and Scottish racing, she admitted to be struggling with all the attention, endless interviews, the horses getting there safely etc
The horse won a class 5 at Catterick, off 72 to start her season off, it's incredible the improvement the yard have got out her, regardless of Sundays result.
Just praying on a low draw for both, Luna could also run a massive race.
Hopefully she can soak all the weekend in, I can't imagine what it will be like if she actually wins it. Oisin was desperate to ride her.
still no betting on here for the arc / or am i not looking in the right place?
