Soumi opted to ride for Scott in the Irish Champion on Wimbledon Hawkeye, having ridden for AoB during the same meeting. it’s massive that he’s deserted that horse.
He’s getting on, he’s not going to turn down a potential Arc winner is he?
He rode Hawkeye as it had a chance, is my reading of it all.

I backed DN before her eclipse in The Romanet at 8/1. This was after the injury to Behrayna. I'd also backed Maltese Cross at 7/1. Hopefully, one of these two silver bullets would hit the bulls eye.
I've soup kitchen this Saturday. I'll be able to watch ARC Day though.

Dela - I would definitely have a small E/W bet on your German rag if we'd had a bit of rain as it would be more of a level playing field cos soft/heavy is such a great equaliser.
"News said that Minnie is a deffo with Ben if the ground is good"
Are there any positive words for her? I've heard nothing...as if she's making up the numbers though maybe the 'no news is good news' maxim appeases me a bit as she's not so high-profile.
I can't say I'm confident but I would've been with any normal year's ground, given a positive update or two - are we gonna get a Tony Bin year when he chinned Mtoto in 1988 and it was officially described as good to firm? I think that was the last time I recall the 'F' word in the ground...though French reports are often totally wrong.
There was a French classic a few years ago when the ground was officially firm and it was definitely soft (or vice versa) though I've forgotten who won
Ideally, I'd hope for good to soft in most years to keep the majority of the big guns happy but selfishly, because last years form is way ahead of anything else she's produced in her career, I'd really like some horendous downpours...and then your Kráút friend will also be a treble digit E/W saver.

I recall the convo on here at the time Impossible saying to you that it was then an 8/1 gamble. Should have seen that he’d step Precise up as she could have done so back at Goodwood.
Getting Diamond beat at Deauville got them the better price, I hope you get a run as they are indicating. We’ll see if the fillies are better than the colts in the 3 year old division.
Pink Pantera’s runs over 1m 4f would give me great confidence that DN will get the trip as I felt she outstayed PP in the Diane.

(Boudout said the last 50 meters of the Vermille were slow for her)
Herbie AOB has been saying the this has been MH target all year and that he expects a better show and that he was pleased with her run at York.
It for me is intriguing that he’s secured both Boudout and Soumi for either Minnie or Ben respectively. You can’t be displeased with say Boudout getting in her. He’s been riding very well, quite ruthless since his comeback.
There a few question marks about a few of these and I’m not sure the Gerry should be seen as the rag, he was in front of Gialevetto on ground last time which was too quick for him. The horse he beat Kaplana is 8/1 and the rag 100/1!
He may want more rain but good will be ok and I think that the market has got quite a few of these wrong.
Saddadd looked gone in that race last time in Germany when they quickened initially until his stamina kicked in and if he takes to the track I can see him outrunning his odds as opposed some of these others much shorter.
Maybe we’re all wasting our time and Daryz will bolt up?
But I’ll be happy with an EW on something and a run the rag might give me that with an ok draw and the trainer has plotted his way here all year. Second by a head in G1 where the form was franked and he’s those odds!

Which is the least experienced horse to have won the Arc? Whether entertaining or informative, essential or merely anecdotal…
In fact, two horses have won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on their fourth start since 1977. In 1995, Lammtarra won the Arc having raced only three times previously (once as a two-year-old and twice as a three-year-old).
In 1998, Sagamix also had just three starts to his name (all as a three-year-old) when he claimed victory on 4 October.
In contrast, the Italian Tony Bin, who won as a five-year-old in 1988, had already raced 21 times prior to that. On average, winners of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe had raced 9.5 times previously.

Foyles can’t have PM now that Soumi hs gotten off of him.
“And if we finish seventh in the Arc de Triomphe, there’s little chance he’ll be able to challenge for victory in the Champion Stakes…”
What’s this mean if they run better than that they’ll go Ascot? Very odd and confused lines coming from them, won’t run in the Arc if there’s no rain now going to run but without his jockey again. Boudout was available chose elsewhere, all negatives for me.

Whilst it is rare for a horse to contest the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe less than three weeks after its previous race, winners whose previous race took place 40 days earlier (or even longer) are more common. There have been seven such winners since 1977.
The average interval between the Arc and the previous race is 28 days. Two-thirds of the winners had raced between 21 and 28 days before their victory.

It's always foolish to try and anticipate where Coolmore horses will head to but I did mention a word of warning with Diamond Necklace for the Arc months ago as there were a few questions to answer with the trip, as well as the obvious target The L'Opera...the G1 gimme on the same day - that's NOT to say I couldn't see her running a very big race in the Arc...though it's still a very big 'IF' that she goes.
I don't think her form is good enough...though what still rings in my ears are Soumillon's words last year about comparisons with Zarkava...and he's a top judge (not renown for búllshíttíng) who'd know as he's ridden plenty of champions over the decades.

Who will win this weekend's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe based on previous trends? Alistair Jones with the key pointers to consider for Sunday's blockbuster race
“Maltese Cross is a Grade 1 winner courtesy of his victory in the Grand Prix de Paris, a race that Saumarez (when staged over 1m2f), Peintre Celebre, Bago and Rail Link all won en route to Arc glory. He is probably the most progressive three-year-old in training, but one nagging concern is the 46-day break since winning the Great Voltigeur. That’s lengthier than ideal when 20 of the last 23 winners had run between 21 and 29 days prior to the Arc.”
A couple on the thread will enjoy this!
Verdict
With the draw so influential, it makes sense to recommend two.
A talented home-trained three-year-old is usually the way to go and Prix Niel winner Varandir might upstage his esteemed stablemate Daryz, who would join an elite group should he win two of these. Maltese Cross can run well but Thundering On, a three-year-old filly who impressed in last month’s prep race, has the stronger credentials on trends.

The pair that you mention have drifted on account of the ground. So with quick can expect them to do so more most likely especially if drawn badly tomorrow.

If Daryz gets a draw in the lower half I suspect he could shorten to 5/4 or less, the trainer and rep have already stated he is the better of the two but did mention the draw could have an effect.

AI Overview French horse racing jockey Maxime Guyon (whose name resembles "Maxim Goyen") described the thoroughbred horse Rumoriste as a "steamroller" (rouleau compresseur). Following their victory in the Listed Prix de l'Avre at ParisLongchamp, Guyon noted that the colt was heavily built for the 2,400-meter distance. He also indicated that Rumoriste was firmly on track and "bound" for the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris.

Sorry if I’ve confused people, I wanted to show the formlines vs the market and how it seems off, through bias, ignorance or not knowing. (That’s not a slur on anyone.) I believe bias to be the main reason.
I wondered why A Subronics set his horse on the path that he did? So I looked for a report or view on the horse that he faced on only his second start at Listed Level , Rumoriste.
Back in May he’d said this and had this all planned :
Same story for Bright Light, second under Benjamin Marie, for the German training of Andreas Suborics. This is the best 3 years in his stable. "The horse was good, the winner set his own pace and started off quickly. I think that on a less flexible track, ours would have been even better, learned the former top jockey. But it’s very good, and he will now go to the Italian Derby (Gr. II), then to a group I in Germany (in September, the Grosser Preis von Baden). Finally, we will see with the owners whether to hire him in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or not; it’s a possibility, as is a possible supplement in the Grand Prix de Paris.”
So he gone to a maiden, then a listed, G2 into G1 where he was beaten a head. There were excuses for his other runs but where did that faith come form?
He must of known that Rumoriste was very well thought of. (That’s my feeling)

This horse was a head away from wining an all aged G1 yet is priced at 100/1 as though it was a fluke.
The trainers confidence and route says that it wasn’t he decided to keep his horse away from the GPDP and the other 3yr olds already knowing his quality.

Either the market is wrong before the draw and the going on the day and Bright Light is over priced? Or maybe the others are underpriced?
That’s my point that I throw out there.
You might run the GPDP over and over with all of them and have a different winner each time?

It seems a ludicrous price before the draw Impoosible.
I also think that Saddadd is also over looked in the market (40/1) maybe because of who he beat, but he only made his debut in G1’s this year.

The last Grand Prix De Paris winner to hit the frame was Hurricane Lane 2021 He’d won the Dante but was 3rd in the Derby. Won the St Leger before the Arc. It’s debatable if Maltese would have won this years Leger. He was drawn 2 in the Arc that year but found TORQUATOR TASSO and TARNAWA too good.
On that you can see why he was shorter than the others but given the record of GODP winners it’s debatable if he was value in what looks like a better Arc field.

Article in todays RP with bookies predicting Daryz could be as short as 5/4 if getting a favourable draw , seemed obvious tbf. The same would apply to any runner in the bottom half i.e shortening and the opposite for those with carpark draws.

In the case of Daryz the article predicts he could start around 5/2-11/4 if getting a high draw , that imo would still be value given his ability so backers what will you do in regards to your current fancies?

365 nrnb atm ...obviously we dont know the draw but ive had a few quid with them now and maybe the rest when the draw is known ,daryz i s a worthy fav and graff says he is possibly the best he has trained he may win but at the prices not for me whatever draw he gets and im not sure he is any better than he was last year plenty short enough imo. the 3yos not a lot between em it looks more open than the betting suggests imo, already on varandir and bright light ante post plus a couple of nonners sh,appens ,one who may have been underestimated at a price is friendly soul a 5yo who is lightly raced for one of that age is progressing an opera winner and won the vermille on first crack at 12f a prominent racer who may be hard to peg back a 6 wins 2 place from 10 starts 2 time group 1 course winner kept on tenaciously in the vermille ,gosdens have a decent record in this and know what it takes 25/1 firms hoping for bigger on here and a decent draw but being a prominent racer /front runner could have the speed to get in front early and will avoid any trouble in running

He described Daryz as a 10f horse, Varindir however didn’t run in the PDJC ran over 12f on his second start. Daryz looked like a 12f horse getting whacked over the wrong trip at Ascot. His class allowed him to win over shorter before Ascot.
Varindir was entered in the Chaudeny
Which I’m not sure if anyone has noticed?, has 3 form lines that are in the Arc running the next day.
The Fav (was odds on) Pierre Bonnard beat by Arc second Fav Maltese Cross 2L in receipt of 5lb
