Yea, cheers for that Delashey. Rem Criquette head very well, good trainer, rem her having summit to say about one of my favs CDA stopping Treves unbeaten run too. Think she is a strong willed lady and reckon what she wants for the horse will prevail.
And on that subject I think there is a absolutely no gaurentee of soft ground at Ascot, tbh preffered the race being at Newmarket, they could go to Ascot over and get same ground but 2f less?
Also Arc sees the keeneland fall meet on and will be 12 turf races there, prob more chance of it being soft! with a few pointers to breeders cup which is same venue m later in month (30/31),its a three day meet with 12 turf stakes races with a host of win and your in chances, wonder how many arc entrants might show up, get thar ground and duly oblige.Rem a French oss thst missed the Arc winning at BC at ridic odds (250?).

You’re welcome BNB and yes she was and is, recall how annoyed she was with Frankie for letting Treve run after feeling that she wasn’t striding out so well at Ascot, poor old El Capitaine (her handler) his face was picture after!
I get the feeling that even though it’s shorter that they prefer that option for him, the stiff 10f against opponents trying to make up or like Caladagan prep.
I’d posted Scott’s comments about Bay City going for the Breeders Cup Turf too this morning and suggested to 1st TimeP that it was in the hope of softer ground, maybe again to take on horses that are over the top?
I can’t remember the French horse that was, remember Shirocco, was that there? (Keenland)

A long shot Bay City Roller esp if the going is soft or worse. I do not fancy the older fillies or the Oaks winner. As for the 3 yr old colts none will be from AOB / Coolmore. I've forgotten the Derby winner already; Jan Brueghel is friendless. I hope he's being saved for this or money down the swanny.

I think the fourth horse is the one to mark that race, Dela. She seems a genuine Group 3 horse, and has run her race.
It was a nice comeback race for Thundering On, after a break.
She has a chance in this renewal for sure.

The ground is going to play a massive part, there’s the horses who want soft and those who’ll take their chances if it’s firm.
I don’t think that Calandgan is the same horse and I’m looking to a less exposed type even older as an each way play. I don’t like having a bet in a race once I’ve had one and may regret it but I’ll do so for the interest.
I’d mentioned Fabre’s horse not being quoted and he’s ran another stinker today, he did last year at Deauville when beaten by the Japanese Alohi Ali.
Maybe it’s just not his track?
He and Kalpana both have one thing in common. That is that their only unplaced run was in the Arc, well before today that stat could be attached to him.
One was 8/1 the other 33/1.
I watched back last years Arc a few days back, I’d recommend anyone who’s backed Kalpana to do so too.
Both horse ran unplaced for the first time there, Buick rode a stinker aboard the Fabre 3yr old QualityCar but I couldn’t see any excuse for Kalpana?
The one thing that may have been a thumbs down was that she was ridden too wide perhaps? Too wide, too prominent?
But when let down she didn’t find much and was caught easily by Sosie. She only has half a furlong of kick, so if she’s drawn wide I’d hold no hope. She’d need to be handy and hope that she can hold on after taking a 1L or two out of those behind.

Testing conditions were against Maltese Cross in the Epsom Derby, so Haggas is hoping for a dry couple of weeks in the Parisian area as the George Waud-owned galloper bids to take on the likes of reigning champion Daryz, recent dual Group 1 winner Kalpana and Group 1 Epsom Oaks (2,400m) winner Thundering On.
“He has a bit to find and of course, everyone is having a go now because it looks like an open race,” he said.
“We’ve picked a nice year. Kalpana is rock-solid and the favourite obviously came back and did well, Daryz, then of the three-year-olds, it’s him and Thundering On.
“I think a lot will depend on what the ground is going to be like. If it’s nice ground and not too heavy, then it’ll be better for us, if it gets heavy, that will make things more difficult.
“If you are drawn wide, it makes it more difficult for sure. I think last year the first four home were between 1 and 6.
“George and Charlotte (Tilburry) are enjoying the ride at the moment and let’s hope it continues.”

At least we’re getting some interest in the race, to say that you took odds with a bookie on the 28th June as a notorious in running punter is however laughable.
BNB it’ll have to be his younger team, the older horses looked cooked. Diamond Necklace the ringer for that.
Was interesting that they felt that pace of the Niel was against Ben, Pearled’s trainer had said that it was a sprint also so two of that opinion.
Talking of Tomhe’s already booked for one in the Breeders Cup turf which I’d mentioned to Herbie.
Not many firms are offering odds and he has to come through his next run for confirmation.

Dela - regarding the Daryz run at York last year, I read at the time that FHG said that going to the Juddmonte was all part of his education/maturity, in getting used to travelling, the noise of the crowds, a different tempo to a race, faster ground etc. on his path to the big day which he wouldn't find in France...so they were under no illusions as to his task at York as it was all part of training him for The Arc - if memory serves, he opened in the betting in the preceding week at around 6/1 after progressing to G2, following egg & spoon races.
After he was upfront enough to inform us of his plans he drifted to as high as 16/1 on the day...which told us everything. He got that plan spot on!

This year they won’t be releasing that publicly until a day after it’s been made, which sounds dodgy to me as someone’s bound to get a whiff of it.

The draw is old news but they changed the day after release, not that it matters, as someone is bound to get a whiff of the results and potentially benefit from it.
They’re trying to revamp the race, the build up, allowing geldings etc… who knows maybe if he has an early night now and again with the new rule Ringo could run next year?

Rayevka enters the stud farm The sprinter Rayevka, injured, will become a broodmare and start a new career at the stud.
Winner this season of the Prix de Saint-Georges (Gr. III) and second, among others, of the King Charles III Stakes (Gr. I) at Ascot, the sprinter of the Aga Khan family, Rayevka, will no longer be seen in competition, as we learned from Nemone Routh: “She did not come back well from the Prix du Petit Couvert, group III in which she had finished third. So we decided to reform her at the stud farm to become a broodmare. She’s not serious, but she can’t enlist this year and is already 4 years old.”

The UK is reviewing its deal to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, the defence secretary has said.
Wes Streeting confirmed the deal was being looked at again after US President Donald Trump called it "terrible" at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.
The original agreement would see the UK cede sovereignty of the territory to Mauritius and pay an average of £101m ($136m) per year to lease back a joint UK-US military base there, prized for its strategic location in the Indian Ocean.

With the trials having been run I thought I’d look at some of the Stats.
First up was time between races with those having run recently and those who’ll come in from a longer lay off.
Last Run – 8/12 winners won on their last run before the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, 10/12 winners at least placed on their last run, 10/12 winners had their last run within the last 38 days
Those who unless things change come in from longer than 38 days are:
Malteses Cross - 46 6/1
Kalpana - 45 8/1
Diamond Necklace - 42 20/1
Minnie Hauk - 45 20/1
Two winners have broken the 38 day gap trend so it can obviously been done so next week look at the other trends.

Tommy twaddle. Just to help the grinning one out. Daryz has won an Arc, and is virtually unbeaten when he hasn't left the country, including several impressive wins. Maltese Cross has fallen over the line several times, won a bun fight of a Grand Prix, and beat a horse who hasn't won all season in the Great Voltigeur. I think he tries to become the first horse since Alleged to do the Great Voltigeur/Arc double in the same season. He owes his market position to the lack of quality which pretty much sums up a very flat season.

With Daryz and Varandir, the Aga Khan Studs could saddle two horses in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe this year.
On Tuesday morning, both performed a quiet gallop on the Les Aigles training track in Chantilly. The work was done „botte à botte“, i.e. side by side with a lead horse – without any major pressure.
Nemone Routh, manager of Aga Khan Studs, subsequently expressed satisfaction. Both horses have done well in their last preparatory races and are currently in a very good mood. A somewhat more serious work is scheduled to follow next Tuesday.
Princess Zahra Aga Khan's decision has thus been made: both should go towards Longchamp.
This means that the famous Aga Khan colors will again be discussed twice in the Arc in 2026.

Present at Chantilly, Mikel Delzangles gave news of the best three-year-old from his stable, Alam, who will be at the start of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr. I) on Sunday 4 October 2026 at ParisLongchamp. “Alam did a good job yesterday morning (read Tuesday). We are very satisfied with him, the horse is ready to go on the Arc,” commented the director. “In the Prix Niel (group II where he finished 2nd in Varandir), he did what was expected of him. Unfortunately, we had inherited a bad number on the rope, so it was mounted patiently and ran well. In the Grand Prix de Paris (on 14 July, 3rd), he wasn’t beaten much either, and he is very familiar with the 2,400-metre course at Longchamp.” Important qualities for an "Arc", regarding the protégé of Al Shaqab Racing: "He is an easy horse to ride, who can adopt various tactics," continues the French professional. He is also able to adapt to different terrains; he won a Group III on soft ground, but can also do very well on good ground.” Finally, our interlocutor confirmed that the partner of Zelzal’s son will be Pierre-Charles Boudot, as was the case during his last two sorties.

Juddmonte to rely on Kalpana in Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
See Seems very hard to me that Sunly isn’t also given her chance considering her run last time and at Saint - Cloud when beaten a whisker by Calandagan.
Juddmonte to rely on Kalpana in Prix de l'Arc de TriompheSee Seems very hard to me that Sunly isn’t also given her chance considering her run last time and at Saint - Cloud when beaten a whisker by Calandagan.
Kalpana will therefore be the only "Juddmonte" at the start: "Since the beginning of the season, the Arc has been Kalpana’s goal. First of all, we had to see if she would retain her full potential between 4 and 5 years old, but she ticked all the boxes this season, notably with her victory in the King George. We hope she’ll check another one next Sunday.” Three times on the top step of the podium in four races in 2026, the daughter of Study of Man looks even better this season. “No doubt, she’s better this year.
We thought last year that she needed soft ground to express herself, but this 2026 season she proved that it was completely wrong. She needs a fast land. It’s very clear what is currently planned for this year’s Arc,” says the director of Juddmonte, before returning to Kalpana’s seventh place in the 2025 Arc: “The draw was not what we wanted (editor’s note: 10) and Colin Keane did not end up in the position he wanted. The filly made too much effort and in the last turn she lost a side of her Australian blinkers. Fortunately, Andrew Balding bought a new pair. We hope the velcro will hold (laughs). In this race, anyway, you have to have the “Gods” with you. I spoke with his coach on Thursday. He was very happy with his filly’s last job on Wednesday. She still has the same enthusiasm and is in great shape. We hope for the best possible performance.”

Asked about the opposition and Kalpana’s fourth place among bookmakers (around 8/1), Barry Mahon wrote the race report: “Obviously, Daryz is an extraordinary horse, having won the Arc de Triomphe. Now, the ground will be faster this year and I don’t know if he can handle it as well. In Ascot, the ground was good, but maybe he had other excuses. He is very talented so we respect him. Then I have to say that I found William Haggas (Maltese Cross coach) very confident in his words, even though it’s not really his style. I think his horse must be working very well. Joseph O'Brien’s filly (ndlr: Thundering On) is also very good, but will probably prefer softer ground. Finally, I don’t know who Aidan O'Brien will send to the Arc de Triomphe, but he must always be respected.”
Asked about the opposition and Kalpana’s fourth place among bookmakers (around 8/1), Barry Mahon wrote the race report: “Obviously, Daryz is an extraordinary horse, having won the Arc de Triomphe. Now, the ground will be faster this year and I do
Always with a keen eye for detail, both points were mentioned back in August, thank you Barry for confirming my observations to be correct waaaaay back then!

There’s an article on the German runner on https://www.jourdegalop.com/
Seems positive and hopeful, can’t paste it now maybe when it’s archived.
Twenty-eight years after finishing on the podium in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr1) as a jockey, Andreas Suborics is set to return to Longchamp on the first Sunday in October in a completely different role. Bright Light (City Light) will be his first runner as a trainer. And the story could take on a very special dimension: if Bright Light finishes ‘in the top three’ , his mentor will indeed become the first person to reach the Arc podium both as a jockey and as a trainer since Charles Semblat (late 1940s). Bright Light’s story is also remarkable in other respects. He will be the first horse to run in the Arc to have been bred at the Haras du Taillis. And the first to have come from an Osarus yearling sale. For €5,000, you could have had an Arc-winning horse...

Disappointed for them, late maturing horse, I see bills and days in the year removed him, shame for the race and hope it’s not fatal.
Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe: Alam forfait One big week away from the big event, Mikel Delzangles' resident has to give up. It’s a great French chance that is disappearing.
It’s a hard blow for the French competitor who will be at the start of the next Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Gr. 1) on Sunday 4 October. Alam will not be in the game due to a major setback. Mikel Delzangles' team announced their withdrawal this morning on social media.
Winner of the Prix Greffulhe (Gr. 3), Zelzal’s son then finished fifth and third in the Qatar Prix du Jockey Club and the Cygames Grand Prix de Paris (Gr. 1), after very good finishes. For his return, in the Qatar Prix Niel, he finished second, applying the same tactic. He announced himself as one of the very big underdogs in the biggest race of the year at a canter.

“Bright Light, a late bloomer who is starting to come into his own. However, although he has finished in the placings on several occasions, his contender for the 2026 Arc has yet to win a Group 1 race: ‘He’s quite a late bloomer and has improved with every race. If we have at least a minimum of soft ground, he’ll be even better than in his last two starts. And we’ll see a different Bright Light. He’s going to improve further. ”
The trainer is fullyaware of the quality of the opposition: “There are champions in the field. But I think that, on ground that’s at least slightly soft, my horse can really run well and stand a good chance of finishing in the top half of the field... ” His charge was narrowly beaten in the Grosser Preis von Berlin (Gr1) and finished third in the Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr1): “The last two times, he raced on fast ground. Good, soft ground will suit him. On the day of the Arc, I simply hope the track won’t be fast. ” Bright Light hasn’t always benefited from favourable circumstances. Andreas Suborics explains: “The procedure for entering the starting gates is very long in Italy. My horse had already been in his gate for five minutes when the doors opened. So he lost four or five lengths at the start.”
His next outing was hardly better: "He found himself inside and almost crossed the line when a horse cut him off very brutally. He lost his irons and ended up unhappy fifth.” These setbacks did not change the coach’s judgment: "As I think he was a very good horse, I kept my program and I raced him in the Gr1s. He only finished at a very short distance from the winner to Berlin. In the last 200m, he was the one who came back the strongest and we had the impression that he could win. Finally, in Baden, the ground was really very, very fast that day.”
Bright Light started this year, over 2,000m, in Strasbourg and since his training trip in 2017, Andreas Suborics has regularly raced his young horses in France: “The French program is important • for us, especially because we don’t always have enough races in Germany. For young people, sometimes you want to get them started in France because you have very good joc- keys. The races are regular. The slopes are mostly in good condition. And, on race day, the entire race takes place peacefully.

The fact that Delashay needs to menchun a quote of every runner simply confirms that he lacks self-confidence and has low self-esteem. You name it, he exhibits it.
Out of interest we passed copies of some of his thousands of 'quote' posts friend of ours who is currently a psychiartrist in the public sector. He reports Delashay has mental issues.
After reviewing the posts of said Forumite he came to the conclusion that he's definitely one. 'One' as in One with a capital C.
