Interestingly, this was the slowest of the three āprepsā for the main event on the first Sunday in October, with Bay City Roller over seven seconds slower than Friendly Soul to five out. Unable to shift up a gear on this quick ground and repeat his Epsom dynamics, he was drawn into Daryz's web and the winner was able to rattle off a closing three-furlong sectional of 32.57 with ease to brush him aside.
Iām wary of what Daryz will find when truly pushed like he was in the POW, that was a canter round yesterday, at the nice odds you have you have a good bet but Iām not going in at the current odds especially when they are thinking of running the 3 year old.

She's a big price for the Arc at 25/1+ and despite hating the thought of backing that 'impossible to predict' stable, I can't resist
having another blast of such a whopping price before the weekend, assuming all is good.
I'm happy to give her another chance and draw a line through a strange tactical race at York which didn't suit the class horses
of the race - even the excellent Kalpana only just scraped home from a much inferior filly!
I hate those races when the pacemakers are miles clear and it turns into a cat & mouse affair with the big guns waiting for each
other to make a move - they're often unsatisfactory affairs...like last year's Juddmonte where the rag of the field Birr Castle
was 25 lengths clear in the straight and he actually held on for third place, still beating a trio of multiple Group winners (even
at G1) who were a stone superior...meaning an obvious conclusion that the jockeys fcĆŗkĆ©d up!
I got 28 for Minnie Hauk after York and I was surprised she didn't head for the Vermeilles as an Arc prep - realistically, there's
only the Irish Champion left for her as a trial but I'm concerned she's available at 25/1 for that which says a lot to me - either
she's not going or there's a minor niggle...as surely even Coolmore wouldn't use her as yet another G1 pacemaker!
It would hardly be ideal prep being only a fortnight before the big day thouogh there's also the Prix Du Prince D'Orange remaining
as a subs' bench Arc trial after this coming weekend.
That race too is over 10f and Aidan's seemed to have campaigned her as a 10f performer this year, which I suspect may be for several
reasons...and may include avoiding the 3yo colts over 12f - I really do believe he's wrong as she's not got the instant acceleration
of a much more versatile Daryz over 10f and she's always struck me as a 12f filly...fully evidence by that fantastic second in last
year's Arc which is a stand-out career best, and she was only just beaten!
She has a couple of pounds to find on that form with the favourite and I think she's every bit as good as last year but she hasn't
been allowed a proper opportunity to show that she's more effective over 12f on soft ground besides that disappointment in the Yorkshire
Oaks, so I find that very easy to overlook.

She easily beat Friendly Soul at Goodwood, beat Pink Pantera over her best trip (10f or even a little less)

You forgot to mention the ground GC, plenty to worry about with a .30 portfolio for Delashay tbf.
cheifland didnt do the german horses form any harm on sunday in the neil btn 4 plus lenths but if you look back at the replays he would have finished much closer but for being checked in his run at a vital stage not entered for the arc but the germans shouldnt be underestimated if the going were to be soft or heavy.

so many group and listed races so little time to go through em all ,but many hands make light work, i havent got the time or brains to process all these races and many a time over the years a comment or snippet from a poster on here has tempted me to look deeper at a race i would probably have ignored, sometimes that comment has led to a decent priced winner , as others say the forum should be about sharing thoughts ,snippets of interest that could be useful .

I was looking at the ratings on France Galop, noticed something of interest for backers of Varindir

I do think Aiden might run either Diamond Necklace or Minnie Hauk in one of those 'gimme' G1s on Arc weekend as they
shouldn't take much winning.
I do get your understandable negativity about Minnie Hauk as her form comparative to last year is hardly anywhere
near as inspiring but I've seen enough to suspect she'll reproduce her best before the year's out and it'd be such
a pity if she doesn't have the chance to go one better in the big one - I was going to add that we'll know a lot

Dela/Rico - I'm not THAT hot on her in the race - I just think her price is my estimation is at least
double what she'd be worthy of if within a few pounds of last year...and I'd hate to be laying her.
I've often slated Coolmore on here and I'm no fanboy, so it's a big step for me to be taken with one of
their inmates, but sometimes you just have to doff your cap and admit a performance was of the highest
class...and she did that in the race last year - I suspect the conditions will fall in her favour come
the big day and with ultra-reliable C&D history coming to the fore...she's already worn that T-shirt
and might well replicate it.

I think Minnie Hauk is more likely to turn up than any of AOB / Coolmore inmates including Diamond Necklace. Nonetheless, I'm not a fan or backer because I do not rate the 2025 renewal of this race. AOB / Coolmore will run at least two, probably a filly and a colt. Maybe two each.

First up was time between races with those having run recently and those whoāll come in from a longer lay off.

Stats are meaningless Delashay, you are applying them to the winners when they could probably apply to the many more beaten horses.
Thereās no harm looking is there? They arenāt one off stats and when looking you have to open minded as some are very favourable to the likes of Maltese Cross.
Is Diamond Necklace as good as Minding? Minding won the Epsom Derby yet did not run here. The 1st time Diamond Necklace ran against a proper Gp 1 horse she flopped. I think those with a voucher on Diamond Necklace for this race are as good as "money down the swanny". I'm one of those, may I add.

Well Minnie Hauk almost become one that didnāt need to prep earlier and Daryz the winner bucked the trend of not having winning form over the distance or any runs.
Previous Distance Form ā 9/12 winners had at least 2 previous runs over 12 furlongs, 10/12 winners had at least 1 previous win over 12 furlongs
As said they arenāt rigid but when you look at them or into them then certain factors do repeat.

Daryz won last year on his 7th start but had the 4 previous wins including course form.
So you can see why he was brought to York, he needed experience and the spacing between races gave him him time get that, prep and recover.
Think you could get 10 & 12/1 for him on the day, that looks great when comparing some of the above, particularly one.

If AOB chooses Chester to prep his horses for Epsom because of the time between races then itād be ignorant not to take all factors into consideration.
Is this another scheme to claim the winner if it fits the stats Delashay, never mind that the beaten horses may also? You seem to be ignoring that fact? Btw you could have got 14s for Daryz shortly before I put him up just before the race and not a single stat used.
Is there nothing positive to say? And you may well have of done so on the machine or with certain books and I take it that there was reasoning behind it, stats arenāt much different to that.

Seems like thereās one STAT that many actually do pay attention to!
Dela - regarding the Daryz run at York last year, I read at the time that FHG said that going to the Juddmonte
was all part of his education/maturity, in getting used to travelling, the noise of the crowds, a different
tempo to a race, faster ground etc. on his path to the big day which he wouldn't find in France...so they were
under no illusions as to his task at York as it was all part of training him for The Arc - if memory serves, he
opened in the betting in the preceding week at around 6/1 after progressing to G2, following egg & spoon races.
After he was upfront enough to inform us of his plans he drifted to as high as 16/1 on the day...which told us everything.
He got that plan spot on!

Yes I recall Herbie and had discussions about how important that was to him (his away day last year) despite sharing his quotes about that some remain doubtful.
They wanted to do the same earlier this year with another May foal Samanagan and bring him for a race that he couldnāt win, our 2000 Guineas.

Just been looking at your previous Flat form stats. From that one can deduce Maltese Cross is the most likely victor next month. Here's hoping. I always like to finish the Flat season with a win.
impossible, it looks very positive for him on those if he can get there cherry ripe in terms of fitness, having the C&D also.
I've not picked the winner for the race for two years. The longest was 3 years. The omen is good. C&D is an added bonus too. I'll know before the evening of 4th Oct 2026. I hope it's not prior.

"8 of the last 12 winners were aged 4 or 5". These included Treve and Enable - 2x each. These were two very good fillies. But for the draw and Enable, Sea of Class would have been another 3 yr old.
