The horse was being ridden after two furlongs and if you actually think it was stopped,you should take up knitting

He certainly wasn't throwing the kitchen sink at it - unless sitting still counts - and he has finished with petrol in the tank which never looks good.

Fair to say he gave up before the line, and the horse continued to run on/close without significant assistance. Obviously could do with a stiffer test now, and the finishing position was unaffected.
