I have no views on the merits of the change but it is pleasing to see racing co-operating for a change. If only they could do the same for Super Saturday, for example. And other occasions when there are obvious clashes to the benefit of nobody. I think a few weeks back Haydock and Chester raced on the same Saturday. Daft. Though that won't be happening for a while.

Typical of this forum someone posts a very interesting and worthy post regarding horse racing and in 6 hours gets one reply whilst the nonsense threads get plenty of posts.

Good evening Donegal

I think it’s definitely a forward step I would imagine the wayward lad would now take place Boxing Day,I would have been more drastic and made a 4 day Christmas festival two days at kempton and two days at ascot bringing in races from the Ascot pre Christmas fixture along with the challow from Newbury and the tolworth from Aintree ( low sun Aintree)I know it won’t happen but it should .

It has happened in large part before, when the dates were right.

Generally good ideas, but I'm not sure about moving the Kauto Star - half the fun is often comparing the time with that of the King George.

Moving the Welsh Nat by a day is a positive. It, and the Paddy Power at Leopardstown, are the two big handicaps of Christmas, and they're usually timed 10 minutes apart on the 27th (and often clash), which is bonkers.
