Read a great piece about the family and business, loss of land via comp purchase and subsiquent litigation cases (objections to planning), many hundreds and more than any other company by a wide margin, the cost alone was eye watering, but it's a vendetta.
The crazy no mobiles /laptops and no tvs just a symptom of summit far bigger.
Having said that some of the beer is OK and not the most expensive and don't mind ye old pub, some haven't changed in over 100 years.

5% lager still on tap    good non-chemical taste but not well served in the pub I visited last year
