It was brought in to avoid Stalls malfunctions punishing punters.
Regretably,The BHA abused the Rule in the Derby to suit the World Pool Markets to their eternal shame (if they actually have any) ![]() |

No. Despite there being a couple of more appropriate examples, the horses have been declared runners.

A ridiculous decision made by the BHA for the Epsom Derby. It's a massive advantage to know someone in high places even in horseracing. A non-runner (fav) declared in the Epsom Derby despite the horse was in the stall and started. Any big bets by any of the lads prior the race?
I do not think this decision will ever be replicated in the future. |

Thanks for the replies, yes seems as I thought it wouldn't be applied elsewhere/since. Rules for one, rules for another, etc....

Flora of Bermuda reared horribly twice in the Diamond Jubilee and trailed home last.
Wasn’t taken out and vet inspected and deemed a runner, “Rules for one, rules for another, etc....” seems correct. They said that Ben would have been given that inspection by a vet at Epsom. |

Issac Newton sat in the stall and gave at least 10 lengths to the rest at The Curragh today. No rule 4.

Backed one just at the off yesterday,Hope Rising at uttox, never watched race thankfully but my understanding is if it's facing wrong way when tapes go up it's a non but whips round after tapes up it's not.
So how many shady run of mill NH races have had horses deemed nons? |
